Nice Bull Regor, that should fill the freezer. Are you referring to the sled as a ATV, they do make good skidders. One less I have to worry about clipping on the trail up there :0:

Thanks permafrost, definitly refering to the old doo as the ultimate atv. I have a passion for those old toys.

Nice one Regor! What were the temps like up there? Friends of mine are hunting around the Grassy Narrows/Kenora area this week.

Is that an early prototype seat for the REV on the 'doo? :D :D

Very nice. I always go deer hunting, but last weekend I saw two moose at my cottage, and three deer. I may switch to moose soon.

PM me, and I'll send you the address to forward some of those extra steaks to. ;)

take a look at the pics, that's what we've been getting lattely. A little of everything and hovering around the freezing mark, give or take ten degrees.
As far as the seat goes, the engineers a ski-doo must have been sneaking around the camp or something!!! :sly:

Here are a couple pics of a hunting trip my uncle was on last year, this is what he found when he broke through the trees back out at the ol truck, he already had his moose down back in the woods so this one got lucky, we are not sure why he was getting aboard though, mabey he just wanted a ride back to the highway or somthing.

how hard is it to get a moose license in can.? or are there strict laws with guns and hunting? i know in the states it is very hard to get some types / places to hunt for moose and other large game like mt. goats or sheep it is run on a point system and you have to have a mininal of 30 pts i think to get a mt goat and i know moose permits are slim i went out to wyoming for elk 2 years ago had the time of my life

Here in Canda you need and Firearms Aqusistion Certificate, and a Hunters Capabilities course done, and all firearms registered of course, I think its somthing like that, i do have it all done an hunt almost every fall. And every year you send in an application for what ever licence you wish to have for moose, caribou, bear or whatever and its a draw to see if you are elgible for a license that year and in a certain area of the province your in or want to hunt in. thats the way it works where i am anyhow, we get alot of people from the U.S here in Newfoundland to hunt moose and caribou every year, at outfitters camps, where they come up and are assigned a guide to help you get your animal but if u take that route you will pay top dollar too.

Nice bull Regor, now you have touched into an area that is near and dear to my heart. I love Moose hunting almost as much as Bear hunting. I have killed more than my share of both. This is a picture of a Bull that my 2nd cousin killed, he is a very nice young man and came to Alaska specifically to go hunting with me. He was very happy when he left. LOL

jwheeler, that has to be the most amazing moose story I've ever heard(or read as it be). I'm only 33 but have spent a lot of time in the bush, I have several stories that nobody's ever believed and only wish I had a camera to prove it. Awsome pics.
team_arctic, no elk ,mountain sheep or goats or even deer to hunt here. Mostly people hunt moose, bear, grouse, geese, and ducks. A few guys hunt wolves for sport to. Here in Ontario I have to have the same credentials as jwheeler, and must apply for a permit to harvest an adult moose, either bull or cow. The ministry then draws names for the amount of tags they deem will not affect the herd. Only the lucky ones get one. The bull in my pic is only the second tag I've had since 86 and I hung the first one in the christmas tree. It's probrably easier for non residents(either out of province or country) to hunt here, but more expensive. The local outfitters are always loaded with amaricans hunting here. It's actually cheap for them with the exchange rate.

OMOTM, I'd love to do some hunting and fishing on your end of the continent. In fact I'd move there if I could convince my familly to go! OH yeah, and the snowmobilling!!!!! From what I understand that is a typical Alaskan bull in that pic. Awsome. Because I can't always shoot the animals I see I have quite the collection of stories, so I asume that you must have some good ones from Alaska. I'd love to here them

Oh yeah, if you come here to hunt don't forget your blaze orang clothing. Law says that you have to where 40 square inches on your chest and another on your back, as well as a blaze orange hat or tuke.

Don't US hunters just have to fill out some paperwork & pay 50 bucks to bring a legal (in Canada) firearm to go hunting? I don't think they need the FAC or FPC like us unfortunate Canucks

Here are the non-resident fees for Ontario in Canadian $ :

Moose- $320
Deer- $160
Bear- $160
Small game- $80
