Thanks much the help from those who replied on my project. I took everything apart on my SRV. Came apart fairly easily and I labeled everything for putting back together. The problem is I bought a track through a dealer who is out of business and it seems to be slightly larger, longer than my existing track.

A number of dealers I talked to said my machine (1983 SRV) requires a 121x15. The track I bought is a Camoplast challenger series part number 679-9793. I compared it to the old one and for some reason it seems like its a couple inches longer. I cut the old one in half to dissamble easier, so maybe when I compare them I'm not being very accurate?? Does anybody know if that part number works for an older SRV?

thanks,

Paul

If you cut your old track, then lay it out flat. Measure from one end to the other and if it's a 121 inch track, then it should measure about 120 1/2 ".
Are you sure your sled is an 83? Because SRV's older than 83 had 116x15 in. tracks.

thanks for the tip. I looked at the snowmobile registration card and confirmed it is a 1983. I also took your advice and measured the old track, sure enough it's exactly what you said it was going to be. I did some research online, looks like the track that was incorrectly mailed to me is in fact a 126, used on some Ski-doo machines and also sleds set up for a 121, but with an extension kit installed. Not sure what to do with my 126 track now, anybody interested in it?
