I'm curious too, I hate to put it on the windshield in case I change or break it :whatever: The pass is quite large compared to out MI ones.

I put my trail pass right in the bottom/middle of the windshield. I have not broken a windshield for several years and if I do, then I will have to buy a replacement sticker. If you purchase another machine then just buy a replacement sticker.

I am putting mine right under the windshield on the dull black plastic. Chicky has had hers there since buying her machine. I had mine on my hood directly above the headlight. But I am putting it just like hers.

Thats pretty much where I put my Mi one as well, but I think citation-83 is talking about the Ontario pass which is about the size of a Mi registration.

If you had a clear or see threw windshield you could put it behind
the windshield. To bad I can't!

Now, when they stop you, they ask for the piece of paper to go with the trail pass. So if they're going to make you dig through your pockets regardless, then why have such a large sticker? Or at least they should let you put it wherever you want. I mean, if you're expected to sit there and dig out a slip, then the least they could do was be willing to look at the side of your cab (for example) to look at your trail pass sticker.

I've never had to dig through my pockets to get the slip. It would seem to me, if the sticker is in plain view on the windsheild, you shouldn't have to show any other proof that its yours.

BTW, back to the original question - just put an "ultra-low" windsheild on my rev, that means the pass takes up most of the windsheild. Yuck.

Where are you getting this from.
If you are displaying your trail permit where the back of the permit instructs you to, (Which allows for you to display it on the left side of your hood.) and everyone in your group has a valid trail permit displayed, why would any Cop, S.T.O.P. Officer, or Trail Patrol Member waste their time asking you for the green permit application form? If it is a Cop or S.T.O.P. Officer, they would also be checking for Driver's License, Val Tag and Registration (Ownership) and Insurance. Of course, if you appear to be under the influence they would deal with that as well.

Try to think of your arguments as this example because your arguments are exactly the same. In Ontario, you're required to display your vehicle license plate with the Val Tag sticker attached to the top right corner of that plate on your car. Never mind why. That's the law. What you're saying is you don't like that law. So you're going to keep that Val Tag Sticker in your wallet and the license plate mounted underneath the car. By doing that, you're breaking the law and you will be fined accordingly. On your sled the law is no different. Yes the license stickers are ugly and the trail permits are even uglier. The OFSC on your behalf was able to get the MTO to allow you to use custom number stickers or paint to display your license number. However, that's all they've been able to get from the MTO. These things are law. If you don't follow the law, then expect to suffer the consequences. That is your choice. Just don't blame anybody else but yourself for not following the law when you're caught. You made that choice. A law is a law and the people expected to enforce those laws are only doing as they're instructed. Don't give them any grief.

I wonder if they would ever go back to the late 90 when the passes were about half the size. I remeber the year 2000, the passes were special for the millenium and they were massive, then they became the big square. Just a thought.

Man am I ever glad of that!!

I don't mind the trail pass sticker - as long as we don't have to put the "licence plate style" sticker on the sled....

Like the custom look of the numbers.

Wow, Trailblazer seems a bit upset! I've seen his name in 2 different posts, and in both posts he's just flying off the handle!
Relax guy....take a deep breath. You're gonna die of a heart attack before you even get to enforce the rules you're going on about.

And just so you know, I was stopped twice last year, and both times they asked for the slip of yellow and green paper that went with my trail pass. So yes..... they do ask for them. I have to agree with rvanderwhatever and Dave600 Stickers don't have to be so big. I mean, if it's a checkpoint, you have to stop anyway, if it's not a checkpoint, nobody's gonna have a clue whether or not there's a trail pass on the sled at 50km/hr.
And Trailblazer, everyone has a right to disagree with the law. Yes they have to abide by the laws, but they're still allowed to disagree with them....You don't have to go all Adolf Hitler on someone just because they don't agree with everything the OFSC is doing.

I think you have TB figured out all wrong buddy.....He's not like you are implying, but rather a straight up straight forward guy. Basically what I took his post to say was this. It does not matter whether we like laws or not.." they are law" and if you break them you should be prepared to pay the penalty if you were fined. It's pretty simple really.
