Hi I am trying to remove the driveshaft from my 1994 xlt.sks. I have removed the bearing on speedo side have also removed the chain and sprocket from the chain case . I slide the drive shaft all the way over to the speedo side but I cannot get the shaft out . The drive sprocket is up against the tunnel but the shaft is not completely out of the chain case,. Do I have to remove the chain case to get the drive shaft out? Or am I missing something? I have replace them on a newer xlt never had this problem. Also Any ideas on how to remove a ceased secondary clucth of the jackshaft. Thanks hope someone can help me out

If that XLT has the 4 driver set up, then im pretty sure the chain case needs to come off.

Well all the polaris's I've had I never had to remove the chaincase but the machines I've had only had 2 drive sprockets so I guess if you have more, than there probably right and have to take the chaincase off. If you DO have only 2 sprockets then it should come out without taking the chaincase out. It's not getting caught in the track lugs is it? As for the jackshaft this happened to me years ago. I put pressure on the back side of the clutch with my hand and threaded a bolt into the end to the jackshaft and used a hammer and started giving the end of the jackshaft some whacks on the bolt and with the vibration the clutch slowly but eventually worked itself off.

The chain case has to come off on the 4 sprocket systems, its pretty easy though, only a few extra bolts.
