HAve been riding aa ZX chassis for a couple of years now and i'm thinking of getting a rev. Looking for anything in the 600-700cc range. Who has had the best luck as far as performance and reliability??....i.e. year, c.c., and or style??? Thanks for the reports fellas.

Reliability- go with a 06 500ss ( 597cc)
best gas mileage 06 600 sdi
but any rev will be more comfortable after a day of less than smooth trails

In my opinion, the 500 SS cant be beat. One of the most rock solid engines Ski Doo has. 04 is the first year. Horsepower is pretty close to the 600 HO and gets alot better gas mileage than the 600 HO. If you really want the 600 HO, get an SDI. I would stay away from the 04 SDI, it was the first year, and there were some issues at first. I dont know if you are wanting an X package or a Gade packeage, if so, they dont come in the 500 SS. The X package comes with rebuildable shocks were as the Adrenalines dont. The 03 Adrenalines may have rebuildables but am not sure. If you like pounding the sled hard, I would say get an X-Package. If you get an 03 or 04 600 HO, make sure the rings have been changed to the updated rings. Were some issues with rings. I have an 04 600 HO Adranaline. Got a chance last year to ride a 550 fan with the X package. It was an 06. The 06's sit 1.5" lower than an the previous years. Personally I liked how it sat lower. I grew up riding Indys and you could push them around, were as my 04 feels tippy, the 06 didnt feel this way at all. The 03s and 04s and non X packages in 05 have the SC-3 rear skid. If you are into wheeling the front end, the SC-3 isnt the best for this. The way it couples, its not the easiest to do this with. If you want to do that, get one with the SC-4 suspension. The 06 would pick the front end up, where as my 04 wont. Well thats all I can tell you. I am sure you will get lots of opinions on this. Lots of guys with REVs on here.

I sold my 04 Legend GT 500ss in November and bought a new 06 GSX 600HO SDI. I would like to tell you that it rides like a dream, but I haven't got a chance to ride the fricken thing yet! Oh yeah I go out and sit on it every now and then, and go "voom voom." Hopefully this weekend I'll get a chance to take it out and ride.

I love hearing all the good things about the 500ss. BTW fuel mileage is EXCELLENT on my wifes 500ss and we don't have to worry about a dead battery. So far we are more than happy with it. And yes the skiis do come WAY off the ground. This is bone stock on hardpack. My 600 EFI cat won't do this.

Lots of great advice here...I'm gonna add to it as well...imo if you still have your ZX then hang onto it till the 08's come out...with spy leaks of the REV's replacement there is a lot of talk already and if it's what it looks like it's gonna be then I say there will be a whole lotta decent used REV's for sale because they will no longer be the top chassis from Doo. Same thing happened around here with the ZX chassis when the REV came out...ZX's were dirt cheap cause guys were dumping them to get on a REV.

I'll vote for a 600 SDI. Absolutely awesome sled. Not faster than the F6 but does okay to keep up, and the fuel mileage is second to none.

Best money I ever spent.

Now if I could only find a place to ride the thing......
