Does anybody know if pipes from a mid 1990's xcr 440 will fit my 1990 indy 500? Or will pipes from an indy 400 work on my sled? ???

:devil: hello there i belive that the pipe on the 500 is the same as what's on the 400 not sure about the xcr but the way i figure it if it's in the same year same make it should fit i'd try fitting it in place if it fit's use it.

I owned 2 91 Indy 500s and a Indy 400

the pipes are DIFFERENT

BUT the Y pipe is the same :)

They changed the Y pipe in 96 on the Indy 500s

You should try to get a Y pipe off the 95 XCR 440 or 96 Indy 500 it adds a bit off performance in the midrange

I bought a Y pipe from a 96 Indy 500 for one of my 91 Indy5s and notice a bit of xtra perf :D

Oh ya it's about $90ca for the Y pipe for the 96 500 y pipe

He has a ypipe off of a 1999 indy 500.
