What helix are you running in your secondary? Studs? Rider weight? Any mods done? RER?

You shouldn't try to regulate your top speed rpms with your secondary. Use the clickers or flyweight in the primary to bring the rpm up.

We need to know which spring and pin weight in the primary. I like 180/200 for the engagement and 350 for the big end running 19 gram pins. secondary 50/47 doo beige (b-5 ?) spring 20 lbs break away.

I would check that the carb slides are opening up all the way-throttle cable adjustment.
choke cable adjustment and that the oil pump is set on the marks. If all those items are correct the clutches need to to be checked for binding. Are either of the clutches hot after you do the test run?

Is this your engagement still? It sounds a little bit on the high side. Which primary spring are you using?

Also, check to see if the rave valves are moving freely. I worked on a friend's 99 Mach 1 that was only running about 7700 rpm. I had just cleaned them in the spring, so I checked clutches, carbs, compression first, not even thinking of the raves because I cleaned them for him in the spring.

I cleaned them up, and instantly the rpms went to right where they should be.
