I have a 1985 Phazer , The heads are warped beyond spec . I see that the head gasket is a 3 peice steel gasket , at .010thou each .... What if I was to peel one layer , how big of a bump in compression would .010 thou give me ? The motor is not stock . Pipe, trail ported punched out to 499.2cc, reeds and a .75 track .

Update I went to check compression , and second pull the rope broke off ! . fixed it and checked compression '' without peeling head gasket '' looking like 105psi and 100psi not good . Well this is the first motor I ever rebuilt ,11 years ago . so it's time again . I'll do the head gasket peel just to see how big of a bump it will give me .

it should raise it about 20-25 psi
