i always stick with the mfg specs. unless you have some major mods that require a different plug. here's what you should be running.
BOTH SLEDS!: Champion RN57YCC, P/N 3070190
use these plugs and you should have no problems. they are a dual heat range to prevent fouling and enhance performance. good luck! -Polaris Doc

Pepsi_fuzz 01-18-2007, 12:42 PM My spec sheet that came with my sled stated Champion sparkplugs, however through personal experience I find all Champion plugs to be garbage. Throw them out. In fact, my sled came with NGK plugs, and when I asked Polaris for spare plugs, they gave me NGK plugs. There's a very good reason for that: they work. The current plugs in my snowmobile right now are the original plugs, they have 641 miles on them and counting. I did have a different set of plugs in, however I let the machine run above 190*F once and it burnt one of the plugs, so I put the originals back in.
Also, if the champion plugs are getting damaged simply by starting the machine, that is the first sign that you should not be using them.
tifa_5_2000 01-18-2007, 02:06 PM are you sure your plugs dont have a P on them? like BPR9ES

Like i said i am running these in my 800 and the are junk.
michahicks 01-22-2007, 02:47 PM Junk? Tabs smooshed in by the engine?
I've never been much of a Champion guy when it came to sleds either. But they told me there is no direct cross reference between the NGK and Champion for the recommended plug type. I hesitated/complained a lot at first but just got used to the idea of having to stock a new/different plug number for this hot rod 800 I had just purchased. That was several years ago. Now, with nearly 15,000 miles between the 2 of them. I have no reason to complain. I doubt I've fouled more than 2 or 3 plugs the entire time. Having trouble understanding why anyone would say they're junk. No worse than NGK in my book.......

Not quite sure what you mean. Are you talking about the terminal at the plug cap and if so elaborate on why they are getting smooshed.

the bPr plugs are an extended tip plug, effectively does the same thing as the rn57ycc

Yes the terminal side keeps getting smooshed in...the tab that is supposed to be the width of the box away was actually contacting the round peice...when i went to start it for the first time it wouldnt start so i pulled the plugs out and saw that this had happened to both of them...this isnt the first time this has happened either.

I wouls agree with you..its just that i have never had a problem with the NKG's but i have had many with the champions...in reality they are are junk they all have problems
tifa_5_2000 01-23-2007, 12:36 AM so are you running ngk? do they have a P on them?
63November 01-23-2007, 10:26 AM Champions are junk!!? I do appreciate that bit of news. Dang, now I'm going to have to go and re-ride the tens of thousands of miles I've gone on snowmachines propelled by engines fired with Champion plugs. Heck, I usually replace them every year whether they have 5000 miles on them yet or not too!
I would suggest, if you are using a recommended plug which is physically being deformed by the engine, that you find the cause of the problem, not just correct a symptom. There is still a problem if all you ever address are symptoms.
bripaintball 01-23-2007, 03:20 PM so are you running ngk? do they have a P on them?[/b]
no im running the BR9ES's never had a problem with them...
Pepsi_fuzz 01-23-2007, 07:57 PM no im running the BR9ES's never had a problem with them...[/b]
Same here, I don't know why anyone has ever had a problem with them.
2002-POLARIS-XCSP-800 01-28-2007, 05:25 PM I never will ever run a NGK plug in a Polaris again as long as i live. NGK are the biggest junk i have ever seen. They have left me high and dry so many times it is not funny. All you people saying champions are junk if that where so they would not come stock on all Polaris sleds and atv i have ever seen. Only way to go is RN57YCC Champions for all L/C Polaris NGK is ok for older fan Polaris but not L/C. I get no flooding or any fouled plugs with the champions like i did with the NGK.
tifa_5_2000 01-28-2007, 06:11 PM so what your saying is the champion plugs got smashed. someone just gave you the wrong part # plugs thats all. both brands are just fine.
