Well without good snow to ride on, like others I am just tinkering with my sled. I do a lot of trail riding in Minnesota and tossing around the idea to drop my top gear a tooth or two. on my 2000 MXZ 600. How much top speed do you loose and will you notice the accleration difference?

on the top gear 1 tooth = 5-6 mph loss

I have a 19t top gear in my Gade, top speed is not very good (around 85) but the low end grunt is excellent. Perfect for offtrail playing and hillclimbing

FreezerBurt is recommending a steaper helix instead of changing the top gear to achieve more acceleration. Looking at the steaper helix idea, does this then require any clutch changes? What does a new helix run?
