First of all, I just stumbled onto this site and must say I am very impressed with all of the help from everyone! With that being said, the 1996 ZRT that I have ran great yesterday. Today I go to ride it and it wont start. My buddy tells me to add a few small drips of gas into the carbs to see if it cranks. It did crank but after the raw gas was burnt up it stalled out. We checked to make sure the fuel pump was pulling gas and it was. We also noticed air in the fuel lines before we did this. I noticed a small amount of gas leaking on the sides of the gas tank so we took the tank off to find multiple holes that were very small (looks like around the staples to hold the seat cover on is leaking a very small amount also) on the bottom. I put some jb weld over the holes and it would start with the choke on but stall out if we turned the choke off. We also noticed quite a bit of air still going through the lines. I checked out the pipes to see if they were all hot and only one was at first. After many pulls it did start and remained started with choke off. During the many pulls, we noticed lots of air bubbles going through the lines too. Well we started riding around the yard and it wont fire on all 3 cylinders consistently. We checked all 3 for spark and they sparked fine. We didnt see any more air going through the lines but couldnt say for sure. Could the very small holes in the tank cause air in the lines and cause random cylinders not to fire properly? Im very new to riding but love it! Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks for any information.

Look inside your tank and see if there is a pick up tube in there. I believe there should be one running to the bottom of the tank. Maybee that fell off? I can't see holes in the tank causing this.

I will. I'm getting another tank also just in case. Thanks for the advice! This forum rocks!! I've never seen a forum with this much help. Maybe I just don't get around enough. Thanks again!

OMG... after new fuel pump and many headaches... fuel filter...UNREAL!!! Gas was going from pump to one cylinder so I thought was pump but... filter all the way. Learning my sled in '07!

Its usually best to plumb the fuel filter between the fuel tank and the fuel pump to protect the check valves in the pump too.
