hello all

Im new to all this but i have a 03 mxz 800 adrin. in the zx chas. Looking for a clutch set up that will pull me out of the hole and not let up untill a 100mph. i am 6 ft 160lbs, the sled is all stock accept i drop to a 25 tooth on the top gear and took the stock 301 ramps and put in 298's which seemed to get me across the field faster. I have the roller secondary clutch. I was wondering if anyone could tell me some set ups. Not just "buy a clutch kit". What i was going to do was put a stiffer spring in the primary than stock hoping it would bite the belt harder, the next spring up from the stock in the secondary, and add some weight to the arms since there is none on ther now. Would this work for me? Any suguestions would be greatly apprecaited. One other thing i notice, the belt is slipping in the primary. would the stiffer spring solve this? Would droping one more tooth help as well?

if you have access to these parts i would try to sort out a set up with them in it. from what i understand the 800 likes to be loaded real hard and there were a few folks in my area that had em running pretty good. from what i recall ( and take this as unconfirmed info) i beleived it involved 280 ramps , a 310/460 spring , big pin weight as in the 23 gram range and a reverse 48/54 helix. if you start to test with something of that nature feel free to pm me as to how it progresses.

thanks i'll try to come up with that setup. today i took the 298's out and put in some 286's ramp, bump the primary spring pressure up so now i engage at around 3900 rpm, and put in about 19.5 grams of weight. Secoundary still stock with the black spring in the roller clutch which i know is a 150lb spring. This set up seemed to pull me out of hole harder up to 75-80 mph then climbs slow.Is there anything else i can do to this set up to improve? More or less weight, stiffer or lighter primary, stiffer or lighter secondary? I have 301's 298,s 286's ramps, adjustable pins, A red, black, and green, secondary springs to work with.

Prim=EPI Spr Purple190/300
Sec===EPI Red205/310 this will work with DOO roller sec
Start with 18.0 grams of pin weight, will more en likely end up with around 19-20
Put your stock 301 back in they worked good

wow! thanks for the advice, have it set up like u say with around 19.5 grams of weight, and have the same stock black spring in the secondary "new one on order!" but stills pulls like a beast! Very happy with the set up now and cant wait until my secondary spring shows up to see how much it improves. Any little bit helps, which im sure it will. Thanks again leprechaun

the setup with 280 ramps seems pretty fast from 0-100. just may beat the 700 with it.
