Hello, I recently went through my Yamaha Phazers secondary sheave and replaced the ramps that were shot. I also replaced the belt. I have it set @ B 2 like the stock setup recommends. My shift rpm is around 5-6 K rpms. This is below the Clymer manuals recommendation of 6300-7000 rpms. Performance is flat. I just ordered a new spring for it, since the manual says to replace it every 2000 miles or if shift rpm drops 500.
Any other ideas on how to get up into the powerband?? :dazed:
Geez, I have to reply to myself??
No ideas out there among all you experts??

actually you sorta did give yourself the right answer. i would make sure everything is clean in the primary and in good shape and replace the spring that you allready ordered. keep a open mind though...it may not be in the clutch. while your waiting for your spring verify the compression is somewhat equal and though i`m not familer with phazers i would think they would be in the 120 to 130 range. try to determine if theres a fuel mixture problem... both plugs look similar... not black nor white. pretty general stuff. good luck, post back with your results.

my guess is the spring which you have coming. like ballsout said make sure the compression is up to par as is the fuel mixture. as for fast replys many of us were in the u.p. all week for the s.w. charity ride
I was putting the rebuilt sec sheave in and decided to check the main jet. All clean. Then I checked the pistons, left one is scored fairly bad. :bash:
Got a new piston ordered and sent out the cylinder. Hopefully this was the problem. Gotta find a leak. I have 145 mains (one richer than stock) so I must have an air leak. I'm worried it's the crank seals... :(
Sled isn't even worth the cost...
