I'm having issues troubleshooting a problem with my sled, on the first ride of the year, the sled started running poor and backfiring through the exaust around 5K RPM. It continued to run even worse before it would barley run.

I thought I burnt a piston but the compression check showed 120 each side, I thought I had the wrong plugs so I switched from NGK BR9ES to the recomended champion plugs, still nothing. I pulled the carbs off and drained the bowls to check for water or ice but nothing, It seems like the right cylinder is not firing, I have spark on both plugs.

I just bought the sled in the fall so I'm not real familar with it, any ideas?

With just buying the sled, you should take it in and have it serviced for the preseason. Sounds like you've got some crap in the carbs and that it's not delivering fuel properly. Have the carbs cleaned and get a good service done on the rest of it. If you've already found this problem, there could be others. Best get it fixed before you continue riding. If you need more info, just ask. -Polaris Doc

Now, Polaris Doc, your help is appreciated, but there's nothing for the rest of us to say? Not like I had anything to say anyway... lol.

That's just me man. I try to give accurate, informative, and complete advice without all the bs. I know what its like to go back and forth on info, or have to get it from multiple sources. If i can accomplish that in one reply, then so be it. Most people on here are looking for good advice, and they should only be given accurate detailed info. I dont mean to step on anyones toes in the info i post, but getting the right info out there means more to me than hurting someones pride.
All in all, everyone is here because they love the sport...and that's all that matters in the end.
Be safe, and have fun!!!
