Anybody had any experience with them?

Don't bother!! They are a very cheaply built pistol and the price speaks for itself. I have heard many horror stories with POS barrels they have and many jammed rounds. Stay far, far away from them!! :nervous:

I have never even seen one, but I've basically heard about the same feedback as PH stated.

I picked up a Ruger P89 Special Edition 9mm last night. Can't wait 'til the cast comes off so I can get the real feel for it.

Awesome gun! Was lucky enough to squeeze a few rounds off on one of those. Has a great feel for a BIG handgun.

yea it's big, it's heavy, but I can shoot over 1200+ ft a sec with a hand gun that feels like your shooting a .38

That is why I wanted a .44 not the .50. The FPS is allot higher on the 44Mag

Picked up a laser sight and a 15 round clip for it yesterday at Cabela's. SWEET!

Keep your warranty and reciept for that last sight unless you got a really nice one. I broke two cheaper style(under $100) laser sights just from the recoil. It kept popping the battery caps off and knocking itself out of alignment... ???

Hi-point is no good. Glock is the best choice IMO.

The safety is that you don't touch the trigger until you intend to shoot - just like a revolver.

I have a P89. It's a great gun! You won't have any problems with it. When I bought mine I read all I could about shooting tests and so-forth. One magazine put 30,000 rounds through their P89 with 0 problems.

I've shot my buddy's Glock. I think it feels better than my P89 but not worth the extra $$ to me. If I carried for a living (he does) it might be a different story. They're both nice guns.

I like the grips on yours. Did it come from Ruger like that?

Yes, but they are Hogue grips.

I need to get some of those. The one thing I didn't (don't) like about Ruger's autos were the stock grips (ugly).

The laser sight you bought at Cabelas should hold up real well, I put one on my uncle's gun and he shoots it a lot, they eat up batteries those lasers do!

arcticzrt, ive got the ruger P89 as well. the only bad thing about it is the safety. Its a VERY unsafe weapon. if you have the hammer back and then flip the safety on, it will fire.

Are you referring to the de-####ing of the hammer? The gun should NOT fire in that manner! I'd have your's checked out.
