: Sticker Goo....
raceguy 01-25-2007, 09:56 PM So you carefully remove the old reg. stickers from your nice windshield and now you're left with the remaining "goo"....what are all of you using to safely remove that without damaging the windshield?
Your ideas and thoughts are most appreciated!
XCR583 01-25-2007, 10:26 PM Use the wifes hair dryer and heat it up. Also use some GOO GONE. Get the Goo Gone at Wally World (WALMART).

Me Too. Goo gone is excelent.
erack@sbcglobal.net 01-25-2007, 11:00 PM goo gone is the best. if not, a little nail polish remover or gasoline but clean the solvents off with warm soapy water immediately after sticker removal.
snofrog 01-26-2007, 04:22 AM wd40 works but 3-m has a product called sticker and adhesive remover in a red and white can ,you can pick up at automotive paint supply places .it works insanely fast
raceguy 01-26-2007, 05:11 AM Ok, I'll give the Goo Gone a try....and the next time I'm @ the paint shop for stuff for the race car I'll look up the remover by 3-m as their products are generally always great.
Thanks for the advice gang, you all kick a%# in my book!
Nith Valley Sledder 01-26-2007, 11:44 AM Another excellent product is Acrysol by Kent Automotive. It can be found at the auto paint supply places. A friend got some through one of his suppliers and it stripped the adhesive off immediately. I haven't found it in Canada yet, his can came from the US.

ZIPPARS02mxz800sp 01-26-2007, 02:10 PM i have had bad experiences with GOO GONE .it will dull the finish expecially plastic
i always use WD40 OR LIGHTER FLUID on my vending machines to remove decals and marker .
and heating the decal with a heat gun or blow dryer works good also .
crnsuperduty 01-26-2007, 02:12 PM another vote for 3M. Works great.

trailblazer 01-27-2007, 10:14 PM I've always used ether sold as starting fluid.
Just spray it on a paper towel and it dissolves the glue instantly.
Wipe up the glue as best as you can.
Then repeat 1 or 2 times maximum and you'll never know there was even a sticker there.
Leaves a nice clean surface and doesn't scratch the plastic or paint.
I've been using it on sleds that we've had for as long as 8 years and it doesn't affect the shine at all.

ontariohunter 01-28-2007, 03:08 PM And then you can use the either to knock someone unconcious to kindnap them too :whistling:
If the need should ever arise. But yeah all the above mentioned methods will take off sticker goo.

Good one! :lmao:
rob7374 01-29-2007, 08:22 PM A little trick I learned from an old timer is to use peanut butter. Let it sit for a bit and it softens up the goo and wipes right off without damaging the finish.
SLeDHeaDDude800 01-29-2007, 08:26 PM I like Mineral Spirits but thats just me! No need to comment!

That would depend on whether you use smooth or crunchy. :lmao:
