just wondering if its possible to swap an 03 zl 3 bulb system headlight into my 98 zrt single bulb system headlight.

Aside from fit, the real issue would be magneto output. This would be much worse assuming hand/thumb warmers and any accesories such as heated face shield etc. There was an article on a similar thing in the new SnoTech Magazine this month.
