The 98 Jag I just picked up has only the speedo, no tach. I think the only 440 that came with a tach is the Z440 and ZR440. It uses a standard 4 pulse tach but I don't see any extra wiring under the hood. Does anyone know if it's possible to add one without changing wiring harness'?

there should be an open brown and yellow wire outlet in the hood wiring harness that is what your tach plugs into . it not only counts the pulses to give you rpm`s it powers the internal light .if not A/C sells a plug with one inlet and two outlets to plug inline and pick up an extra outlet. M

What tricks do you guys have for whacking a hole in the console for a tach?

(don't want it to look like $#%&, and or ruin the hood either)

Thanks!

I am going to do my best to find center, shouldn't be too hard. Then use either my Dremmel or Rotozip.
