Just wanting to know what the numbers are for the 84 SRV and the 83-85 VMax approximately. Does anyone know??? ToyDoc???

The SRV is around 65-70hp. The Vmax is about the mid to upper 80's.

The SRV was around 66hp 48tq @ 7250rpm, the V-max with Yamahas update porting made around 89hp 57tq @ 8300rpm.

Why and why did they do update porting? don't know the exact year of the sled, the guy said a 83 but I could swear it's a 85. I know that the SRV was a 84. WOW toydoc,89hp!!!! Now I know why they are so darn fast with there light weight.

the 84-91 SRV had the bigger reeds and better porting

The 80-83 SRV had the smaller reeds ,same as the XLV and VK 540s

Bought a 540 out of a 83 and found out the hard way

I had an 84 SRV and 86 SRV and friend had an 83 SRV ,87 while another had the 82 SRV

In the 84 and up you can add Boyeseen reeds,same reeds that can be used in the Phazer btw

Here are the torque specs for the SRV and VMax from Yamaha

61LBS of torque for the SRV at 7000 rpm

74LBS of torque for the Vmax 540 at 8000rpm

BTW My SRV ran at 7000 rpm if it went higher it lost power
