As you already know, the whole norhtern WI area is great. I think Cable is really great because it's a little further away. I don't think it gets quite as crowded as the Minocqua, St Germain, Eagle River areas. We have been staying in St Germain for 20 years, but for our January trip this year we are staying in Mercer. Will your buddy be renting the place???????

I doubt it,...it's a 3300 sq ft. condo that he's at as much as he can be.
