:( my freind has a 90 400 an where having trouble keeping it running it will start only when you put gas in plugs or use starting fluid
where getting gas to carbs just not getting gas from carbs to cylnder
any info would be appreciated

Sounds like a problem with the starter circuit.

Pull out chokes and clean thoroughly, replace pilots, remove and clean pilot air screw, make sure everything in the carb is spotless.

If you do these things and it still wont start post again. These 400's should start in 2-3 pulls with choke on.

PS. Check the plugs to make sure they are firing properly, check compression,
