: News From Rick K
poor farmer/logger 02-27-2007, 01:07 PM Hi everyone, got some sad news from Rick this afternoon. The reason he hasn't been around the last week is because his place got broken into last week. Little buggers took just about everything too. They even took his new Phazzer. Luckily they were not to bright or skilled and got it stuck in a snow bank and abandoned it there. He's trying to get everything straightend out now and asked me to post this on here for you guys.

CORY9 02-27-2007, 06:15 PM Had it happen years ago, leaves a sick feeling in your stomach that lasts a long time.
Best of wishes and good luck.
erack@sbcglobal.net 02-27-2007, 06:24 PM sorry to hear that. hope he has insurance to replace the things that were stolen. good to hear that he is ok.
poor farmer/logger 02-27-2007, 07:14 PM It's a terible thing what some people will do. It sure takes some nerve boy to go into someone elses house and take sometihng that doesn't belong to them. We've been lucky enough to not have much stolen here but even just to hear about someone else stealing something makes me mad.
Rick said he ordered a new laptop and dig. camera. I'm sure he'll be back as soon as he can.

source_distributing 02-28-2007, 11:24 AM Happened to us just last year too. It's the WORST feeling. Yes, material things can be replaced. But the feeling of having been violated is hard to shake...
Hope this guy and his family are recovering ok.

RollerDoo 03-05-2007, 09:32 AM Wow, both of us got hit in the same month. They got our laptop and digital camera as well as our mini-dv camcorder, and a bunch of other stuff. What the hell is this world coming too?!?!?!?!??!?!?
poor farmer/logger 03-05-2007, 09:34 AM More news from Rick. He just got back from Falcon Lake, he and his wife went up there for a couple of days. They put on over 700 kms in two and a quarter days. He said they had a blast up there. He's hoping to get his new lap top this week. He's hoping to have things back to normal by the end of the week.

That is good news Logger, Thank you, I think a snowmobile trip was just what they needed. I don't know about all of you, but all my stress, worries, and problems just go away while I'm on my sled. Oh sure they are there when I'm done, but for the time I'm riding everything is very very distant. Hopefully that was the case for them too. Glad to hear things around coming around for Rick and his family.

poor farmer/logger 03-06-2007, 06:07 PM Hi Snow4, that's the same way I am as well. When I'm out sledding all my problems just seem to disapear for a little while. A person has to get away from things once in a while just to stay sain.

Rick K 03-08-2007, 03:47 PM Well it started February 20 Tuesday I went to work I came home around 1:25 our sled trailer was out in the yard with no Phazer on it .....they cut the locks with bolt cutters took the sled the cover the stand.....they left the RX1.....I took the keys out of the sleds they were hanging up in the bedroom beside the lap top IPod, Bose docking station digital camera ,sat radio, camcorder, gold chains etc......they kicked the door in....here is the funny one my gps was right beside my lap top they did not take it..... they took Michaels helmet ,jacket , pants.....Claudette’s Helmet, pants, pants....and my jacket pants but left my helmet.....
Then the police came very nice guys they took all the info they had cars out looking for the sled & stuff but no luck them thieves where gone having fun with the Phazer so we sat there lost....we called our insurance company etc...well our son stays in the bright lights Winnipeg with Grandpa .....Grandma past away Christmas day from cancer I will say more on this after......so Michael calls us Tuesday night blowing a gasket dad ,dad some guys found our sled so I got the phone number off Michael......so I called the guys they told me where they are located so we hooked up to the sled trailer and off we went Claudette & myself.....we got to the place 3 guys having a few pops very nice people but what sliders aren’t ......so we got to talking one guy was going home seen this looked like smashed sled with a helmet beside it....so he went home from work called his buddies they went back to the seen the helmet was gone......they thought something was not right so they started to dig and dig and dig they did the Phazer was sunk big time in the snow these punks launched it over crossing and down it went real bad.....I guess they could not get it out .....these guys it took them about 1 hour to get it out.......they took it back to one guys place put it in the garage started looking though it a found the reg in it .....it is in Michaels name....that’s how we got the Phazer back....so I had to take the sleds in to get new ignition plus keys checked over etc.....they only put 14.9 k’s on the Phazer....this will cost us out of pocket around 2,500.....yes we have insurance too ....
So on the fallowing Monday the burglar alarm went into the house & garage done....we have replace the clothing and helmets already the electronics’ we have started to work on we have the lap top plus the dig camera too.....
It sure takes a long time to get all your duck in line we are still working on it....
As for my mom she was battling cancer for some time I spent most of my time with her at treatments and taking her around the Interlake showing here places that she had not yet seen parents are special people in my eyes...mom went into the hospital December 2 /06 they operated on here December 6 /06 blockage in the colon again (tumour) this time it was not good they removed most of her intestines ......the doctor said if she was to live she would starve to death....so I went every day before work to sit with her then after work.....it was the toughest thing I have done in my life just not to show how much it was hurting me to watch my mother fade away to nothing.....words can’t say it right.....on December 25/06 I lost my mother at 11:10 am....I was happy to see her go I did not want to see her suffer any more but it hurt like heck to lose your best friend we had spent so much time together and everyone was so worried about how I would deal with it being so close to mom .....ok I was lost but very happy I spent all that time with mom when she was having good days too....I told her how much I loved her and thanked her for all she had done for me during my life.....she was a special lady moved on to a special place...she was 72 years young....my wife Claudette did contribute lot’s to taking care of my mother she is special in my eyes too...and a big thanks to Ryan the poor logger and snow4 for all their support you both made it allot better journey though the rough times
So in ending this story on my mom if your parents are still with you please tell them how much you love them and how much you appreciate all they have done for you ....you will not regret it....I’m glad I did.....my two sisters wish they had .....they have told me...
Claudette and myself went away on a unreal sled trip to Falcon Lake March 1 st to the 4 th we sure did do some riding we put on 700 plus k’s unreal trials went into Minnesota Grumpy’s bar & grill America’s northern most bar....we also made it into Ontario I will post some pictures after of the CANAM trail.....
Sorry for talking your ear off but I have been out of action for sometime...and I’m glad to be back
Rick :D

Now lets go out and enjoy today and our families.

snow4mydooplz 03-10-2007, 02:24 PM I'm thrilled your back Rick.....I have been concerned for you after hearing about this and knowing what you have been through recently with your mom. The advise you give/gave all of us stands out more than anything in your post. Through all the stuff you have been through you still find your way of making something good come out of it. I have listened to you, be assured ! Be kind to one another is the clear message I get from Rick. Tell your loved ones you love them.
To You and Claudette, and your family, I wish for some better times.
