I saw on ESPN last week that Bill Elliott might be offered the seat in the 55 car. This was alluded to in Saturday night's pre-race show, but DW quickly pooh poohed that idea. Well, the current driver isn't getting the car qualified while other less monied teams are getting in the races.

I can't imagine NAPA & Toyota are impressed. What w/ the cheating fiasco @ Daytona, the missed races & the "single car incident" the other weekend.

I wonder what Mikey told them to get the deal for 3 teams.

Plus Bill would have 6 past champion provisionals.

hummm, I have not heard this, but it sure is interesting. I have always like Bill but can't see him in a toyota. I still have not got used to seeing Jarret in the toyota. I'm sure Bill's provisionals are on waltrips mind for his teams. At this point, he's pulling out all the stops. Not good for Toyota's debut in the cup cars.

He's a driver that won the 1st Winston Million (oops there's that word again) by winning 3 of the 4 big races in 1 season in '85 or '86. He is also won a Winston Cup Series championship.
