Any recommendations on how to repair a cracked hood? I was planning to try JB weld

That will probably work if it is reinforced with a backer of some kind: and angled piece of the right type of material; plastic or metal, or fiberglass cloth. I tend to work on the "form follows function" end of the spectrum and would use a metal angle piece behind secured with mechanical fasteners, "pop" rivets IOW. JB used in addition to that would work superbly I'm sure.

JB Weld or 5 minute epoxy, and lots of zip-ties.
