sounds good to me, a few time we have trailers to hill city and rode over to duluth its some aweseom riding.
800MXZ 05-30-2007, 01:04 PM I would be game for sure (if there is any rideable snow)
timespentsearching 05-30-2007, 07:22 PM usaully up north it good rising from christmas to the 2nd week in march for sure exclueding last year. may years we have run from the second week in dec. to the 3rd or 4th week in march.
TommyBoy68 06-08-2007, 04:37 PM I'd REALLY like to check out the North Shore riding. Have heard good things (most years).
I will definitley be around the site come snow season, and will watch for some MN ride developments, wherever it may take place.
Lake of the Woods is another great MN (MB and ON too) riding area...I ride out of Baudette, Warroad or the Northwest Angle.

timespentsearching 06-10-2007, 01:25 PM its all so good riding it impossilbe to choose. i do think the iron range, lake of the woods, and north shore are the best places to go, the thing is you can really go all three places in a few days easy. i once went from park rapids to international fall and back in one day in all ditches so you really can cover a lot of ground in a day. should be able to do 250 a day pretty easy. ill start looking into places to stay. i know of some places in ely, silber bay, two harbor, and virginia that are pretty good.
Rick K 06-12-2007, 08:37 PM The wife & myself could be interested in that ride..
Rick
timespentsearching 06-12-2007, 09:46 PM the more the marrier, still looking for any ideas or places people have gone that they really liked
dlaine 06-13-2007, 10:16 AM I grew up in Grand Marais, MN (north-eastern end of the North Shore system). Lots of trails and even more unplowed forest service and logging roads. No snow worth mentioning last year but I have high hopes (as always :) for this next winter. The trails around Grand Portage are always good (assuming enough snow) - the casino does a nice job keeping up the trails up there.
Here are a couple of links with maps:
Grand Marais: http://www.boreal.org/RidgeRiders/
Grand Portage: http://www.grandportage.com/snowmobile/sno...ilemap06-07.pdf (http://www.grandportage.com/snowmobile/snowmobilemap06-07.pdf)
Maps and a compass/gps are a really good idea. There is a lot of nothing back there. No cell phone coverage over a lot of it and the gas stations are few and far between.
FIREBALL 440 06-13-2007, 11:05 AM Yes I also recomend Grand Marais. We were riding up there a month before there was any snow in Two Harbors. Great trail system - always make sure to stop at the Hungry Jack for a burger and beer. Lots of sleds on the weekends though but it's getting that way everywhere up north.
Lots of good trails and routes in the Finland / Isabella area too - lots of fun.
timespentsearching 06-13-2007, 10:10 PM i was up them quite a few years so e went from ely to grand marais and around but i was like 12 so riding was a lot different, it is way awesome up there though, im really thinking this would be the place to go, pretty much from duluth north and east is great great riding.
sled_neck4life 06-13-2007, 11:45 PM When Im all done with my racing equip. and have some extra gas and hotel money I might have to get a couple guys together from up here and make a trip down would be nice to meet you all, and have a good time out on the trails.
