in indiana when they approached with a bat they became open game. castle doctrine laws are in affect in many states now to protect people. I am to assume that they are trying to hurt me when they come at me with a bat, the dead end road would only help the case. no longer do you have to run for protection, which you should not have to do anyhow. now taking the camera well thats another story. but I assure you they would have ate lead (45 to be exact) if that was me. the bat was all it would take to for me to protect myself. check your state to see if you have the right to protect yourself or do they think you should run ?

Here in Michigan if the same thing happened in your home and you shot them you had better hope they die in the house and do not make it outside.

No...the sheriff would not have played it the same way!!! He almost lost his job for something like that with a prisoner! Now understand that if you are a law enforcement officer you cannot lose ANY FIGHT OR YOU COULD LOSE YOUR LIFE !!! !!! !!! ....2 weeks without pay! Probation for 1 year.

an m-1 carbine with 25 shot clip would do the job, but is it legal ? point is if your in fear for your life or your family long thoughts about to shoot or not are not an option, and should not have to be. NOTE: fear for life so I suppose shooting a guy running would not be ok nor would I. but I can assure you a man with a bat gets .45 fast and his chances of living are not going to be good. Mike I have no doubt your buddy that is a sheriff would arrest, however I would imagine my lawyer will beat his initial response, and it would not be the first time the law was wrong either. did he know the castle doctrine laws exist? snow4 your right give the rights back to the people. protecting your family is not something you think about it just happens. being most did not know they were in affect, that means it did not cause mega killings by those whom have the right to carry legally. banning guns from legal owners is not the answer when the vast majority of crime is done with illegal guns. next time you think of the nra will it be good or bad?
