Well, I thought long and hard about when to have the cook-out this year. I was thinking that it might be nice to have it earlier in the year to be more assured of good weather. But hey, we're snowmobilers. We can handle some nasty weather should it come our way, right? I figure that it probably makes a lot more sense to have it the same weekend as the MSA Snow Show and Hastings 500 Grass Drags again. That way, it will save fuel for those of you planning to try and make both events.

The 5th Annual SnowmobileWorld Cook-out At Idooski's will be Saturday, October 13th, 2007.

I hope that everyone can find the time to at least stop in and say hi and meet some of the other great members that we have here at SnowmobileWorld. We're going to have some great food, a few games during the day out on the lawn, and a big ol' campfire with friends at dusk.

We're looking at starting the munching around 3PM and grilling sometime between 4 and 5PM.

More details to come. I just wanted to get this posted so everyone had time to plan it in to their schedule.

Don't forget the sleds to show off. We line them up along the highway for everyone to see. :thumbsup:

Since I first read that thread, I was thinking I'm going to put lots of effort into making it down there for that Kieth. But the date was sticking in my mind as seeming uncomfortably familiar.
Just figured out why. I'm responsible along with my committee of 3 to put on a Employee & Family Assistance Program Training Conference that weekend. Hope to have about 150 - 200 people there. So I'm sorry to say, I can't make it. I'm sure I'll be passing up a great time.
Missing the Toronto Sled and too much other stuff Show as well that weekend.

Johnny O and I drove down for the BBQ last year, had a blast. Will attempt again this year, Oct 12th is Sue-Annes's birthday, and we'll be trying to close the cottage in (hopefully) by then ....

New hotel right off I-94 at the Gobles (M-40) exit mile 60, ... can't recall the name but is was cheap and clean and an easy drive to Keiths from there.

I would have went with the skidoo but I thought 150 hp starter was over kill. I looked at the Tilton Superstarters but they were costly, more so than the 900 Poo not the 125. It cost too much too. LOL

I have a HUGE event that morning in Downtown Kalamazoo for Breast Cancer awareness. Speaking of breast I am bringing naked chicks to the cook out. Well....Depending on how cold it is and how drunk you are....ok ok no naked chicks but I will be there and if I get drunk I will most likely be naked with JT.....NOT WITH JT but along side....I mean....whatever...you get the point!


Just in case anyone is rolling through Kalamazoo early in the morning that morning we will be rocking out from 6am to around noon. Then I am tearing down for a few hours then headed for Keith's.

If you guys have every wanted to hear some insane loud music it could be a cool stop for you. We will be pumping out around 50,000 watts. To those that go to a lot of concerts that may not seem like much as the normal rock concert is around 75-100,000 watts.

With 8 line array 15" tops and 12 18" subs we will be shaking the Earth though.

Many of you have been asking what to bring. We have the main course well under control. If you can bring something to pass it will be appreciated. Other than that, Captain Morgan or Absolute works! :lookaround: :p Seriously, pop, side dishes, deserts, buns, condiments, plastic cups, paper plates, cheese, crackers are some suggestions. If you can, pick something from the list or bring an item off your own list, but please don't feel obligated. We always have plenty to eat. We just want to see you here.

Be sure to bring a chair and your favorite beverage if desired.

thats awesome matt, i think we're all dying to see your sled.

Im working my tail off to get mine there. Im pretty much multitasking. When the paint is drying im putting parts on or sanding other parts and putting a coat of paint on them. Just put a coat of filler primer on both sides of the sled today. Looks pretty good, should have black on it soon.

Looks like it's going to be a nice day......Sunny and 60. Sure beats 90 and humid. :thumbsup:

It's looking more and more like I will be making it. It won't be until after 8 pm though. I have to get some hunting in with the great weather!! I only hunt 14 miles away, so it shouldn't be a big deal.

wish I had went, at least how my hands feel today. got a huge gash on my right thumb which needed stitches. the left one is just flat out sore. had the flywheel move on the briggs last night and it kicked back and ripped the cord out of my hands. not once, but 3-4 times before , we checked the timing. amazing what you will let go knowing it ran fine on the dyno. hope all you had a great time. we did, once we got the timing closer. they are hard to start when they have 40+ degrees advance. :(

Yes Barry I made it. I had a great time chatting with everyone, meeting new people and of course enjoying a great feast! Thanks Keith and Donna for hosting this great get together. I put in a long day and didn't know if I would be able to stay awake long enough to drive over. (Puree) actually called just as I was getting ready to fall asleep and shamed me into to going. I guess it's only fair, as JT and myself have kept him awake in the past. LOL.... I think that it's actually just a little long for my shorty. The skis weren't quite on the front pads yet and the track was just spinning since it was already all the way up on the rear pad. May have to just add a rib 6" or so from the rear on the rear pad.
