someone11 07-12-2007, 10:22 AM um, maybe, ill see if i still have it
someone11 07-12-2007, 10:29 AM Sorry guys, looks like it went out with the recycling. It talked about this guy tried for about a year to get this going. He was having problems getting aprroval because of the people living around him. The people that live around him are FIPS (ill explain that if you send me a pm) and they were complaining that it would be too noisy. He respnded back saying that there is farm equipment running pretty much 24/7 and it is probably louder than the snowmobiles and this is just a one day event. The farm equipment runs pretty much everyday. And that was about it, the newspaper messed up, at the end of the article it told you where to go to read the rest of the article, it was like 2b or something. I went there and uit was just the same thing as on the other page. And the entry fee and all of that ig ot off looking on the poster in the picture on the article. It was really blurry. I can find the guys phone number for you if that would help.
idooski 07-13-2007, 11:01 AM Unable to find 11470 Hills Road in Baroda on the maps programs. I did see a couple of ponds from the aerial views. Guess I need a phone number.

idooski 07-13-2007, 11:21 AM That just gives you Hills Rd. I found that. Still need the location of the address. I'll try the number you sent me later and let everyone know. Headed to town for supplies.
someone11 07-13-2007, 12:09 PM just drive along hills road until you find 11470, im sure its there.
idooski 07-13-2007, 02:21 PM Please explain what you guys mean by "I will sponsor you". :) I'm giving this some thought.
someone11 07-13-2007, 03:56 PM good way for me to meet some of you before the bbq and the charity ride.
idooski 07-16-2007, 08:53 AM I'm going to at least need a crew to help wrench in case she goes under. Any volunteers?
someone11 07-16-2007, 11:29 AM wont bring the wrenches but i can help wrench. Just tell me what to do.
JasonF 07-16-2007, 03:47 PM I'm in, I would come give ya a hand Keith  Might even bring the sled :lookaround:
kid rocker 07-16-2007, 04:36 PM I'm going to at least need a crew to help wrench in case she goes under. Any volunteers?
LOL.... You won't need any wrenching, I have seen you ride the water. There is no way your sled will go under.
someone11 07-16-2007, 05:53 PM i would bring the sled too but i dont think itll be finished.
snow4mydooplz 07-16-2007, 07:31 PM I'm willing to be like one of those surgical nurses who hands the Doctors the instruements they need to perform the procedure they are doing. In other words I will hand the wrenches to the mechanics... :D
Snow4
someone11 07-16-2007, 09:43 PM lol, that would be cool. Thanks for reading snow4.
crnsuperduty 07-18-2007, 01:36 PM I'm pretty sure I could come help with the wrenching. My sled isn't coming since it a brand new motor and all, but I'm always up for stupid tricks like riding across water.
I have the day open as of now. Keep me posted.
someone11 07-18-2007, 08:59 PM any updates idooski? did you call the guy? Im about 75% sure i can make it. Ill know the wednesday before if i can go for sure.
2follman 07-19-2007, 09:17 PM :blahblah: Hey all---I can supply all the info needed for the Baroda NIMBY Lake race.
First, that phone number posted, chances are slim to none of catching Marky on that. Call him for general info at 269-369-4268. Or call Jay @ 269-426-0525 for racer info.
Admission is $10 for adults, 12 and under are free. Partial proceeds go to Cancer society, Marky just wants to re-coup what he has put in $$ and then have fun!
Hot food will be cooking on the BBQ, unsure of cost, but reasonable I'm sure, BRING YOUR OWN BEER! alchohal is allowed, but can't be sold at the event.
All racers must have helmet, lifevest and min of 20' of 1/2 inch rope with flotation device.
My hubby was over there tonight, we got 5 inches of rain last night, and says the water is looking pretty sweet!
Here is a linki to a fairly decent google map-- http://www.google.com/maps?q=Baroda,+MI,+U...ap&ct=title (http://www.google.com/maps?q=Baroda,+MI,+USA&sa=X&oi=map&ct=title)
Easy access from 94, 12 or 31
Email me or call Mark or Jay of you need anything!
Hoe to see ya all there--it has been darn near a bloody fight to get this and we really want it to be a great success so we can continue next year and the year after!
idooski 07-20-2007, 10:15 AM Yeah, that first number wasn't working too good. Thanks for the map, but we already know where Baroda is. Can you shed some light on where the pond is at?
I'm trying to work it out guys... I'm having trouble convincing someone that everything will be okay. I also have to convert my sled back to all stock panels before I would be able to race it on water. It's more time consuming than you might think. Too many open holes. Maybe I could just use lots of extra duct tape. I may just have to try to borrow a left side door. I'll keep ya posted.
SLeDHeaDDude800 07-20-2007, 11:01 AM I'm going to at least need a crew to help wrench in case she goes under. Any volunteers?

You can hand us snacks!
2follman 07-20-2007, 11:21 AM The pond is out behind his house on his 100 acre parcel. On race day the drives will be marked. He lies in a white farm house and there is a big barn out back that says "Empty Pockets". You can actually see it (the property in general) pretty good on Google Earth, although it isn't current enough to see the pond.
labudda 07-20-2007, 12:18 PM Keith you need my panels let me know.
I wont be able to join the pit crew. I am going to be a single dad that weekend so going up for the day would be beyond my superdad powers w00t
someone11 07-20-2007, 07:20 PM hey 2follman, just curious, how are you associated with mark? Its carzy how info travels. I live in stevensville and i should be there.

My hubby and I live out here near Mark. I used to do some Ebaying for him when he still had his junk shop. The "boys" like to blow stuff up together and all sorts of other crazy schemes.....
Just got back from an impromptu picnic with Mark and the gang, told him about this site and i tickled him pink! All these grown men are just bout doing cartwheeels they are all so excited, he is looking forward to seeing you all! Amy
someone11 07-20-2007, 10:20 PM thats good. I read it in the herald palladium and figured i better put it on this site to get more attention.
crnsuperduty 07-23-2007, 07:38 AM Yeah, that first number wasn't working too good. Thanks for the map, but we already know where Baroda is. Can you shed some light on where the pond is at?

Let me know keith. I'll even come over and help prep the sled with you. Gobles is a short drive after work for me. I can leave by 3 a night or 2 if needed. I got my permission slip signed, so if this works out, I'm in!!
Keep me posted.
someone11 07-23-2007, 11:08 AM Yeah im free all next week to come and help. Gobles is about 50 minutes away. I do nothing during the week so that would get me out of the house.
How do you get t-shirts for this event? I was at the gas station in town at the corner of john beers and cleveland and i seen a guy wearing a shirt for this.
someone11 07-23-2007, 11:24 AM I made an event for this on facebook and i guess it made a map of where the event is. I just found it out today, and it actually has an arrow where it is exactly.

I guess technically its i buchanan.
idooski 07-23-2007, 01:06 PM Cool! It looks like it didn't find it before because it's actually in Buchanan rather than Baroda.
someone11 07-23-2007, 01:13 PM I mapquested it from where i live and its 12 minutes away. So from my dads house it will be about 45 minutes.
2follman 07-23-2007, 05:35 PM Cool! It looks like it didn't find it before because it's actually in Buchanan rather than Baroda.
Yeah, I forgot that, it is one of those goofy spots, it is Baroda Township, but a Buchanan address for what ever goofy reason...
someone11 07-23-2007, 06:24 PM can we get t-shirts?
2follman 07-23-2007, 07:54 PM can we get t-shirts?
<span style="font-family:Comic Sans MS">For orders please email me directly at amyfollman@gmail.com and I will get ya all taken care of!
someone11 07-23-2007, 09:53 PM the shirts are sort of a blue color. On the back it shows a cool snowmobile racing on water and it says 1st annual snowmobile lake run on NIMBY pond, august 4th
2follman 07-23-2007, 09:53 PM Here is what the shirts look like---We have sizes from M-3X, pink and blue---------I have a bunch right now and can have more dropped off tomorrow.........Amy
someone11 07-31-2007, 11:51 AM any update idooski? Or anybody?
idooski 07-31-2007, 11:57 AM I have the sled almost ready, but it's not looking good for me. I just had to take my dog to the vet this AM to have something removed from her stomach. We don't know what it is because I don't feed her any bones, but she got something stuck in there that doesn't want to come out on it's own. Besides the mental anguish it's providing me, there's also the $1000 that it's going to cost me to have it done. I still want to go, but it will be a last minute decision on my part. I'll let yo know as soon as I can. Sorry.
someone11 07-31-2007, 01:19 PM ok, no worry, ill probably go anyways if you arent there, my dad said something about he might like to go.
Westernbronco 08-02-2007, 02:27 PM Dose anybody know the yardage to make it all the way?
someone11 08-02-2007, 02:50 PM you mean how long the course is? No i dont
crnsuperduty 08-02-2007, 03:27 PM I'm pretty sure the SS can make it paul. I think you should try. I'll even drive if you want.
someone11 08-02-2007, 05:57 PM well, there is a 95% chance ill be there unless there is something more important to do saturday.
My cell # is 269-921-6647 Ill turn it on when i leave the house.
idooski 08-03-2007, 01:22 PM I just can't justify the expense this weekend guys. Thanks for all the interest, but I just spent almost $1000 on my puppy dog this week and being without a job that might as well be a million. My wife would kill me if I went and trashed my sled (even though it needs a re-build anyway).
Any of you that go, be sure to take pics for us.
SLeDHeaDDude800 08-07-2007, 11:00 PM Anybody take any pics of this event?
idooski 08-08-2007, 10:08 AM Someone11 said he did.
someone11 08-08-2007, 12:20 PM yeah, not digital though. I have to wait for my dad to get them develped, that could be a few months. And no telling if they are good pics, its hard to catch a moving object.
