: Zr 900 At Local Grass Drags
scratchinmyass 10-28-2002, 06:33 PM Well, I took my stock zr900 to the drags this weekend and did very well. I do not have it broke in very well yet I only got it warm a few times. I also still had a little premix left in my tank so that didn't help any either. But, I raced a Polaris 700 with head work, reeds, and airbox work and woopped his ###, which I should being a 900. I also raced a MXZ 800 with head work, cluthed, geared, and airbox mods and beat him even worse. Then was a ZR800 with twin pipes, cluthed, and geared, We were dead even. I was running very rich, and was not even broke in so I was very impressed. Next one is in a month So by then I will be more broke in and probably have pipes and reeds. Oh yeah, I also raced a Mach and beat him by about two sleds, he had work done but not sure what. The drags were 500 ft.
phazerhater 10-28-2002, 06:39 PM Very impressive! What were the times/speeds?
GreenMan 10-28-2002, 06:39 PM Grreat nice job ;) lol won some races and didn't even break her in yet huh lol those are some nice sleds phazerhater would love to hear this ;) SWRules
phazerhater 10-28-2002, 06:41 PM :withstupid: Yes, phazerhater WOULD love to hear this!!hehe :p
GreenMan 10-28-2002, 06:44 PM LOL :D
TallCool1 10-28-2002, 06:44 PM 'Guess I better do a little more work to my 800 so I can keep up w/my bigger brothers...ha, ha. Good to hear you kicked some butt. Can't wait for the non-Cat guys to read this. :0:
phazerhater 10-28-2002, 06:46 PM Machzzzzz1 won't believe it, because machs NEVER loose. Isn't that right machzzz1 !! LOL ;)
GreenMan 10-28-2002, 06:48 PM naw don't rush em to read this Jim Fritch, let them non cat owners keep on dreamin
GreenMan 10-28-2002, 06:51 PM OH man phazerhater now ya done it :( now we're gonna get a full page report on the mach v zr900 from machzzzzz1 :( haha
CatzAzz 10-28-2002, 08:17 PM Thats what I like to hear.. :D
98xc700 10-28-2002, 08:41 PM Sounds like that sed is pretty hot right out of the box.
Great looking sled to.
SWRules
Beerman 10-28-2002, 09:01 PM Ha, Machzzzz1 will swear the Mach he raced must have had a plug wire pulled off, that's the only way one could ever loose to anything under 3000 CC's.
GreenMan 10-28-2002, 09:06 PM LOL you must know him good too? hehehe
Beerman 10-28-2002, 09:18 PM Only from reading his posts. He obviously knows an awful lot about sleds, but he has no shame when it comes to promoting that sled. I think all sleds/manufactureres have their strong and weak points. But he's quite the evangelist, Machzzzz1 must get $500 for every MachZ sold in North America. :p
hpzrt600 10-29-2002, 01:08 PM I'm only going to take this with a grain of salt. There is always way to many variables and just because someone raced a few modified sleds doesnt mean that the sleds were modded correctly...often they are slower or no faster than they were stock.
Not only that, but I dont consider a 500 foot race to be anything to brag about...how about 1000 feet or a quarter mile??? Then lets see what will happen.
:hallo1:
Machzzzz1 10-29-2002, 02:50 PM I belive that you won some races. But beating a MACH, Please. Machz dont know how to lose. Its funny how you mentioned a few sleds and then tried to slip the MachZ in there and instead of killed or destoied you only put a few sled lengths. LOL.
I guess thats just the way it is when it comes to sleds. If you want to be the fastest you have to beat a Mach. Well I understand.

In reality there are a few sleds that are easier to drag with. The Mach has a lot of traction problems and are better suited for longer races. I can see it getting beating by a 900 twin. But give it some room and forget reading snowflaps (Unless you have a telescope.)
And yes, I know the owner of that Mach and he did have his plug wire off, Acually all of them were off, only reason it ran was becasue everynow and then a spark jumped the gap. :D
Ill let you cat guys get back to your dreaming Now. ZZZZZZZzzZzZZzZZ
phazerhater 10-29-2002, 02:53 PM :withstupid: And there ya have it folks, the gospel of machzzz1.LMAO
I knew you'd sniff your way to this post sooner or later. :p
Machzzzz1 10-29-2002, 03:02 PM LOL
TallCool1 10-29-2002, 03:09 PM Traction problems....yeh, yeh, yeh!!! There's always an excuse. LOL
But Machzz1 is probably right, Mach's don't lose, they just don't finish first either!! JK
Machzzzz1 10-29-2002, 03:12 PM I wouldnt even have posted here. But you guys made such a big deal about it and I love giving back to my Fans. LOL..
One things for sure the ZR900 is nothing to mess with, Its powerfull, fast and at idle will shake some sence into ya.
But the Mach .....

Machzzzz1 10-29-2002, 03:30 PM IM just speaking on behalf of Skidoo 550 Fan owners.
And im one of the skidoo gods..... :)
z800rotax 10-29-2002, 03:47 PM I do believe there was a little dig there about big twins having a vibration at an idle :0: ;)
Machzzzz1 10-29-2002, 03:50 PM Maybe its not the twin, but perhaps the rider shaking of fear becasue hes racing a MACH.
Ill let you be the judge. :hallo1:
PowderBoy 10-29-2002, 04:18 PM If the rider was shaking he was probably waiting at the end of the track for the mach and got cold....
Someone bring him a hot cocoa and cat will have that problem solved.....
heheheheheh too easy to resist :p

Without a doubt that 900 vibrates like a SOB at idle! Not even close to as smooth as a trip., so it wasn't a dig, it was the truth!haha
Beerman 10-29-2002, 04:39 PM I wonder if I spent $10k with PSI for a 1500CC triple if my TCat could at least be half as fast as a MachZ? Probably not, I'm sure I need a minumum of 2000CC's and at least 400 hp.
Machzzzz1 10-29-2002, 04:53 PM No like stated before 3000 or up. :D
machz69 10-29-2002, 05:13 PM :p my buddy had a fast cat for one night
machz69 10-29-2002, 05:14 PM lol.........i was towing him back with my machz  :hallo1:

machz69 10-29-2002, 10:37 PM :p ;)
scratchinmyass 10-30-2002, 05:44 PM OK, My computer was acting up for a few days. Wow you guys really got excited about this topic! I wasn't starting this topic so that I could brag, I just thought you 900 owners would like to no that it did pretty well for not even being broke in yet. Oh, by they way HPZRT600 , if the race would have been any longer I would have just won by a bigger margin. I was not by any means blowing people out of the hole, Matter of fact I didn't beat anyone out of the hole I either got beat out of the hole or just stayed even. The Polaris 700 w/ head work and reeds got me pretty good out of the hole the first time But I just screamed by him. My point is, is that you say a longer race would have maybe hurt me, I say YEAH RIGHT! Oh yeah and as for the MACH, Yes, he had all his plug wires on, But it looks like he was about a cylinder short of beating me. I have always liked the Mach sleds and they are fast , I am just saying that I was pretty impressed with my stock 900 that still had premix in the tank. Oh by the way, There was a 98 zr500 there that was smokin people, Of course he had a 700 big bore, twin pipes, V-Force, geared, cluthed, timing key, and ice chisels in the track.
