Question on the shirts,,, any chance we can have the logos printed on the backs again?? I really liked that and I have no problems paying a few extra bucks for that. Also wondering if we were looking at long sleeve tshirts or back to sweat shirts. I would like to go back to the sweatshirt.
As for pink,,, I really think we need some pink on there, but maybe not as much or as neon as last year. We are there for charity and pink is the color we are representing.

Jeff, It might be wise to start a thread of nothing but shirts,,,, see what everyone wants. I am sure if they are gonna cost a few more bucks due to what we want,,, nobody will mind. We all understand that you cant do it for nothing.

All girls ride planned.........Not too long, short little trip while the guys go do thier thing.

Trip to Paradise, (Falls) Only aggressive type riders should sign up as this will be a long day with many miles put on your sled. Starting early and most likely getting back well after the dinner hour. Well over 200 mile day.

Are there going to be any destination type rides? ie: Big Springs, Pictured Rocks, caves, waterfalls, Diggers, etc.

I would like to plan a ride to stop at Diggers for a burger one day. I've already talked to him and he would love for all of us to show up. He says that he will put extra crew on to help that day.

is a 128" a long track??? I would love to hit a boondocking day,,, seeing the pics makes it look awsome,,, I have always be a trails person, I didnt even get into logging roads and such till last year,,,
Dave, any chance you got room for a cat on your boondocking day?? If so, sign me up.

Butch, I am also liking your idea,,,, maybe even set it up where we already have the wood and such together,,, maybe even send a couple of guys out ahead of time to get the fire going, then everyone show up and start the roast,,,,

Thats what we did one time brian, went out and found the spot , gathered wood and came back that night for the fire and stars

You guys with the shortys can boondock, it's all about you and your sled . It' s just a little practice so you know how and what your sled will do in the deep. Besides when there's a group theres always someone to help dig out  . Just stick with jasonf ,he has the snow bungie

As for the plan ride we did talk about a run to paradise one day. This trip would be a early to rise and get on it. Ive been looking at this and I figured gas points and such too. If we gased up in seney you can make it to the falls . I thought we would run from seney over to newberry and to the falls, eat at the brewery, gas up and head back out to rainbow lodge to grand maris and in . One big loop , my gessamation is somewhere of 250 mi for the day . But this would be a run that you would need to be hoofen it so I think just going and getting to the falls in a straight shot then we can meander our way back but not the same route we came. ( thinking of trying it over x-mas for a test run, but then there all ther powder too)

You know?? ,Alot of people GET stuck cause they forget to think ahead ! .If you watch how and where you stop, alot of stucks could be avoided . Conditions play a role too , "deep" fluff and everybody fights it , "settled "deep snow is easier to get around on. Hay it's all in fun anyhow, right? . Where sledding!! :hallo1:

I hate getting stuck too but it sure beats a day at work

Im for sure in on a boondock adventure. The trick with all these planned rides will be... What days they will take place and to try to fit everyone in thats wants in . I think when time gets close we can get everyones plan of arrival and depart , then we can try setting the rides. WE CANT have butch be our fire marshall if he is still in the motor city

I know I said a paradise run but it is going to be a BIg run for some , and I can see if we dont get that one in , it's ALL riding to me

Just a tick over 30 days till the ride :dazed:

mutt

OH...p.s maybe we should apoint a ride marshall and he can kinda draw up a ride board for the week . If we all give him our dates and ride pref , he can have somewhat of a idea of scheduled events so to speak. Remember we need to do a ride with ALL of us for the charity parade ride this year. That would be real cool with video mike there !(last year we had 50+ sled there!!)

Hay Dave? How about a softcore ride in the am for the not so hardcore, and then in the afternoon have a hardcore run , this way things might be smoother for you . This could help you in planning your routes, you know the area !. Plan a 3-4 hr boondock run 101 for a softcore boondockers and then go for it on boondock advance 101+ some  OR.... we all go and have a split point for those who had enough and know how to return to camp safe. just a thought for ya

Remember we need to have a ride set aside just for the charity ride day for everyone to ride in . It just would not be right if we have a charity event and not have one day dedecated for the cause.
I know with all the sleds it would be a big group but hay thats the fun of it and it is for just one run.
Maybe the foggys dinner would be a good RIDE IN FOR CHARITY, maybe let froggys in on the deal and they just might want to paticipate in one way or another(snow trails tv expousure !!).
We could have 2 groups of sleds to cut down the pack size but ALL be going at the same time and route.
By letting video mike float inbetween and ahead he can get some good footage and capture us riding into foggys , just a thought

I like Ricks idea, but wonder if we can manage to keep 2 groups that size together for that long. Maybe we set it up for running to Foggy's and then after we are there and grab lunch or whatever, we all head out our different ways. I know we have some wanting video footage of all of us running along together,,,, that has always been a pretty nice touch to the trip.

I made a pretty nice video for the first ride and said it was something I wanted to do every year,,, I have failed to produce anymore since then. I know both Dave and Rick do a pretty good job putting videos together,,, maybe we should get this planned already,,, have all pics sent you way by a certain date. Maybe we can put it all together when we get there (dates and time for video info),,, but I know I am pumped about getting to see another video to remind me of all we did at the ride.

 Here's a thought , when we get there we can set that ride up weather it be foggys , buckhorn or the beartrap. I know big groups over distances is hard to manage but WE have to do a ride like this , could even make it diggers (straight shot ) . We had 14 in last years group , 2 groups of 14 ish would be close to covering everyone as of right now , maybe 3 groups if needed .If we show off the event the bigger it will get in the future not to mention the site exposure.
As for the vid there will be one ,one way or another . I would of done last years but my puter would not handle it (memorey) . What I did try did'nt turn out well(our highlight vid) due to i pulled the pics from the gallery and they where to distorted , so pics would need to be set in orginal form to the movie maker person via e-mail or disc.

In case if anyone is wondering about snow conditions for the ride here is an update. Munising Trail Report:
DATE: 1/09/08
BASE: 2-6
PAST 24 Hrs: 2 inches
CONDITION: Fair
We had a customer want to rent a sled this afternoon so we sent out a scout to check out conditions. He came back and said the trails were smooth. Jim our service mng took one out for a test drive and said it was pretty nice. It will be tough to get around town but in the woods the base held up. We need some more snow but there is riding to be had. We will go for a spin tomorrow morning and report back. Snowcross this weekend!!!!

Jonny and I are heading out Sat. morn, as soon as I get done with my gig. Should be done around 2:30...After picking him up, we should be on the road by 3:30 am. We might be riding in Gaylord area on Sat., depending on conditions. If not, we'll meet you all up there....

Snowcross this weekend!!!![/b]

Its going to get much better, I predict lots of lake effect with a massive cold front coming in next weekend

I have class on Mon and Tues nights so I should be up on Wed, possibly with ScottMc and his new trail sled.

We are getting a lot closer!!!!! If you have any donations that I dont have on the donation thread list, please let me know asap. Also, dont forget CAN GOODS!!!!!!!!!!! We need a good showing for the local food bank!!
If you are planning to purchase a shirt or sweatshirt from JT, get your order in NOW! Jeff needs atleast 24 to make a shirt run worth while. I am afraid if we dont hit that mark, shirts will be REALLY exspensive due to shipping, art and set up cost. It may be that we might have to do away with them this year if the cost gets out of hand

You know, in the weather dept things are really going our way...( actually perfectly) munising has snow forecasted every day this week(on top of the 3 foot they have already) and temps will not get over 17degrees. So, the snow they have now and the snow they will be getting is not going anywhere. I myself like riding in temps in the 25 degree range which is exactly what is forcasted for our week up there. 27 degrees is the average temp for everyday. Not frigid, not too warm to lose any snow ya know?

It's going to be a great week ! ! ! I know I keep posting about weather but I'm so damn excited I can't stand it !. It's like a week of Christmas Eve I have to go through now..... :bash: :bash:

Touching the topic of planned rides here......
The PARADISE RUN..
Im thinking WED would be a good day if we do this . Its going to be a long day 250+miler via the same route back. Alot will depend on who is up for it, sled conds and weather conds. Trail traffic will be low mid wk and I thought since jasonf will be coming in that day and would leave us a possible option for a trailer spot incase of a breakdown(need his cell #.) I was also thinking of getting with someone in paradise(vagabond, travelers) to set up a possible over night stay incase(should'nt be a problem mid wk).
If we make good time there I thought of going a differant route back (via north, pike lk,pine stump, grand maris). Snow4 and I made the run from paradise to seny and back up through pine stump , rainbow lodge to paradise last yr, Around 185 mi that day, it took the whole day but we did goof off too w/ lots of stops.
I figure if we leave around 9am-ish and boogie over there, eat see the falls and gas up . We should have time on our hands to play on the way back(via other route).
Gas stops would be seny, falls, there and depends the route back, pine stump, rainbow, grand maris.Think about your oil on this one too(dbl A!).
The run going there would be at a good pace to make time for the return route. it,s fairly a fast run across with alot of grades. This run would be not a 35mph sight seeing tour due to time and distance. In spots you can crank it and then theres some twisty stuff too.

Im thinking we can make this run and be back by 8ish or so. This whole run was started cause Rev head wants to see and have a drink of the yooper tea thats made from the falls lol .With all the snow and cold the falls should be a site to see, it's those 82 steps and 1/2 mi walk to them!(see them 1st then eat).PS bat-doo bee there's shopping there too lol.

This run is open to all ,from the other new team...... Team "BOB" :whistling: LOL

Just got back from a weekend of riding in Seney. It snowed everyday and the conditions were excellent (on trail and off trail). North of Seney there was areas of 3 feet of snow (2 feet of fresh powder)

There was very little sled traffic, but of course, we were not on the trails much.

Conditions should remain primo for next week.

EXPECT A BAND OF HEAVY LAKE EFFECT SNOW SHOWERS TO MOVE ONSHORE
THIS EVENING...WHERE WHITEOUT CONDITIONS AND SNOWFALL RATES OF
2 INCHES PER HOUR OR MORE ARE POSSIBLE. IN THE WAKE OF THE BAND...
NUMEROUS LAKE EFFECT SNOW SHOWERS WILL PERSIST INTO WEDNESDAY
NIGHT. LOOK FOR 1 TO 5 INCHES OF SNOWFALL TONIGHT...2 TO 6 INCHES
ON WEDNESDAY AND AN ADDITIONAL 2 TO 6 INCHES WEDNESDAY NIGHT. THE
GREATEST AMOUNTS ARE EXPECTED FROM THE PICTURED ROCKS NATIONAL
LAKESHORE EASTWARD TO TAHQUAMENON FALLS...WHILE THE LEAST AMOUNTS
OF SNOW WILL OCCUR WEST OF CHATHAM.

A LAKE EFFECT SNOW WARNING MEANS SIGNIFICANT AMOUNTS OF LAKE-
EFFECT SNOW ARE FORECAST THAT WILL MAKE TRAVEL VERY HAZARDOUS OR
IMPOSSIBLE. LAKE-EFFECT SNOW SHOWERS TYPICALLY ALIGN THEMSELVES
IN BANDS AND WILL LIKELY BE INTENSE ENOUGH TO DROP 1 TO SEVERAL
INCHES OF SNOW PER HOUR FOR SEVERAL HOURS. VISIBILITIES VARY
GREATLY AND CAN DROP TO ZERO WITHIN MINUTES. TRAVEL IS STRONGLY
DISCOURAGED. IF YOU MUST TRAVEL...KEEP AN EXTRA
FLASHLIGHT...FOOD...AND WATER IN YOUR VEHICLE IN CASE OF AN
EMERGENCY.

For those traveling up I-75 beware of the State police in the West Branch area... They have police hidden all over and are giving out tickets galore for speeding. ( speed trap)

My parents who are on thier way South just recieved one today, since they are headed to Florida and then onto a ship for a cruise they had to pay the ticket within minutes of getting it. ( my Dad was going 81 in a 70 zone..lol) How convienient for our state that there is a number on the back of the ticket for those wishing to pay with a credit card. At least the police officer wrote him up for going 75 mph.

Just a heads up on this and also they like to hide near the Gaylord exits as well..

I would not hold your breath too much. John is the only one thinking that it could rain. Accu-Weather and Weather Underground are calling for snow in the Munising area.
