Send Mike Houle and Dale Loritz. They run ovals not Superman and Wolff. It is funny most years Doo has won the Pole position with speed in the 95 mph per lap average. It can be a dangerous race also, maybe that is why some keep away from it. I bet if team Bosek and others that have won there, would run a Doo, it could win, they only focus on this race alone all year.

I HAVE BEEN GOING THERE FOR FIFTEEN YEARS IN A ROW AND BEEN IN THE PIT'S THE LAST THREE AND I AM NOT SURE IF MIKE AND DALE WOULD CARE FOR THE LAST 200 MILE'S, STEVE HOULE, BRIAN STURGEON, GUY USLEDINGER, GERARD KARPIK AND OTHER FACTORY GUY,S HAVE TRIED WITH NO SUCCESS BUT I THINK WOLFF AND MORGAN WOULD BE EXCELLENT FOR THAT. THAT IS WHY JOHN WICHT AND CORY DAVIDSON HAVE BEEN TAKING SO MANY WIN'S. SKI-DOO E-MAILED ME AND SAID IT IS IN THERE PLAN'S IN THE FUTURE!

PAUL,
*IT IS A 500 MILE ENDURO RACE ON A ONE MILE OVAL, IT TAKE'S ABOUT 8 TO 9 HR'S TO RUN. THEY HAVE BEEN RUNNING IT FOR 32 YR'S. THE WEB SITE IS www.i-500.com AND IT GIVE'S YOU ALOT ABOUT IT. IT HAS AROUND A $35,000.00 TO $40,000.00 PURSE AND I WILL SAY WHEN THEY BRING THOSE F-111 SLED'S AROUND AND GIVE THE GREEN INTO TURN ONE IT SOMETHING TO SEE AND HEAR!!!!!!!
THEY WILL AVERAGE FOR THE FRONT ROW ON A TWO LAP AVERAGE IN THE MID TO HIGH NINETIES.

It is rumored that Doug Flannery sets up the Polaris boys sleds for them, and let me tell you, Doug can make any sled run. * This man is a motor Doctor! *Polaris has dominated this race for years. *The p-85 clutch helps a lot on top end.

nomad,
i got on the i-500 site and it sure looks like it is polaris's race for sure. but i believe with snocross being the hype right now the i-500 is going to the back seat. are most of the sleds triples in that race ?

dfi800-- I'M SORRY YOU FEEL THAT WAY BUT THERE WAS MORE PEOPLE THERE THAN AT THE W.S.A. SNOCROSS AT GAYLORD THE LAST TWO YEAR'S WITH THE BIG BOY'S!! ARCTIC CAT WAS OFFERING $10,000.00 TO ANY CAT THAT COULD WIN. THEY MUST CARE!!!!

PAUL AND EXTREME:
THERE ARE TWIN'S AND TRIPLE'S, THERE WAS A 600 EDGE TWIN THAT STARTED 35TH AND FINISHED 5TH TWO YEARS AGO. DOUG FLANNERY DOES BUILD A LOT OF MOTOR'S FOR THEM LIKE TROY PIERCE FOR ONE.

okay.

just send team renegade up there and the time will be cut to 6 hours. it would be shorter then that but LadyK would probably have to serve up some goodies and coffee.

dfi800, I don't know where your location is you don't list it , but , if you are from
michigan the I-500 is a big deal. People here treat it like the superbowl. It's
a great time to go to the upper peninsula to watch the race, there are great trails
in the area, and also casino's to blow your weeks wages at. I can vouch that alot more
peolple than me feel this way.

Each manufacturer's racing department is probably funded by the marketing budget. They have X number of dollars to spend & spend it where they can get the most for their buck. In the 70s & 80s it was oval racing. Now it is sno x, so that's where the money is spent & the sleds developed for.

Outside of Michigan, they probably aren't a lot of people aware of MIRA & the Soo I-500, so that's why 'doo hasn't been putting much money behind that type of racing.

Maybe because I am from Sudbury but I always hear about the Soo I 500 each year

but another cases of nothing matters to people in S Ont if it is North of the French River

The thing is I think most people(mags) are trying to cram SnoX into everyones face IMO

That said I love watching SnoX

But Ovals are wicked too,we had them here in Coniston for a few years

I haven't heard of the Soo-i500 until now. Sounds like a good time though :)
