I just substribed to one i forgot the name though i think it was Snowmobiler?? i guess i'll have to wait for my first issue

I subscribe to Snowgoer Canada because I like the Buyer's Guide issue. It's also Canadian and gives Canadian prices.
Snowtech is another good magizine.

I think I like Ontario Snowmobiler.

The one I most hate is SUPERTRAX. Thanks to a few Comments.

I think Snow Tech is very good, then Supertrax, and American Snowmobiler.

Snow Tech is excellent for technical data. The rest are still good reading but I like Snow Tech for its technical content.
I used to read American Snowmobiler until they started charging to read for their website.

Snow Tech is by far the best sleddin mag :) The others are nice if ya want to look at lots of pretty pictures but that's about it IMO :hallo3:

THe Handling of a Buick Road Master, Looks like a 90 Hyundai, Is as heavy as a third world taxi.

After going through the latest issue of Supertrax (the latest issue was free I assume to all OFSC members) I have to say that it was the worst piece of snowmobiling journalism I have ever read. The buyers guide was supposed to be NO BULL, but all they did was say how great all the sleds are and find a few stupid things to say about each one (the hyundai quote comes to mind as does the comparison of the blade to a volvo). Someone needs the balls to come out and say "i like this one better than that one". Also, they all seem to be sleeping with studboy shaper bars under thier pillows, as they devoted half the issue to either why they are so great or whining about why they are not allowed to be used in sno-x racing. They obviously have an interest in this product as this was way more promotion than journalism. Also, there was not one tech feature in the whole issue and I have heard enough about Lester Brothers Racing for several life times.
Sorry for the rant.I like Snowtech for the good indepth tech articles. I have learned a lot from that magazine. Also, Ontario snowmobiler is good if you do much touring in Ontario.

Snow tech is by far the best, have talked with Kevin Belkie one of the editors a couple times out at the haydays show, and he knows his stuff.... ski doo trusts him by sending them rev proto type serial number 0000004 to test and give their opinion on, before ski doo ever started making them for the public.....
American snowmobiler use to be good but they make to much noise about their "shoot out" and not much more, I wouldn't pay to enter their wed site either....
Use to love and subscribe to supertrax, but they have really slipped, they use to have good hard data like snow tech has, but no more.... the rest are endless ad's and not worth your time or money.......I think the mags could learn content ideas from this forum.DooZ

Snowtech is the best. They seem to try to avoid the bullcrap like all the others. If there was a magazine that did pick favorites of the manufacturers, they would probably have to pay for all of their own snowmobiles that they tested. What manufacturer would lend their snowmobiles over to a magazine if they thought that the magazine would say "Arctic Cat is junk"??(Arctic cat just for an example) A magazine like that would be very expensive to pay for their costs of their own sleds.

Of the three that I have subscriptions for...they would rank this way... #1 American Snowmobiler #2 Snowgoer #3 SuperTraks

They all have a lot of the same pictures and comments.

Next year...American Snowmobiler only.

However, I really need to get a copy of SnowTech. Never knew it existed. Seems to be #1 in this forum.

American Snowmobiler is ALL ADDS,and that shootout

Snow Goer US is rehashed oem adds though I like Mickelson(sp)

Rollo, don't hold back :D Actually your comments are dead on. I think that the Lester Bros. are sponsored by Stud Boy so that is why they're flogging that dead horse. IMO those shaper bars are just a gimmick. We discussed this a while back but those bars will be weakened when the steel starts wearing away from the carbide.

It will be interesting to see what happens now that Supertrax & Ontario Snowmobiler have parted ways. A lot of the stuff is repeated between the 2.

Also, why is there an article about riding in Quebec in OSM? How about an article about northwestern Ontario? Oh, that's too far away from Mt. Albert to drive.

Craig Nicholson's touring articles are well written. Even if it is about an area I'll probably never head to, I'll read it.

I have a subscription to Snogoer, but after reading snowtech for the first time that is going to change really soon.......Snow Tech all the way

Hands down Sno-Tech. Very little/none of the mindless dribble the rest of the mags stuff theirs full of. Lots of good info and tips.
