Sled Dogg 10-30-2002, 06:13 PM She's a 1997 Ultra SPX with 128 stock hp waiting to shred loose!!Got a great deal on ebay for her,all the Fox shocks were recharged this spring when it was serviced after teh season. I bought her off ebay for $2400 with the buy it now option! Couldn't pass it up.

Sled Dogg 10-30-2002, 06:23 PM It wasn't on for long LOL! I had to snag it as soon as i saw it. It was so clean that even with like 3500 or 4k miles the dealer gave the guy a full season long warranty as part of his 2800 price last fall. Thats how he got the service and shocks recharged this spring. She's a beauty. And matching gear will be greatly discounted at the show. If they have any for 5 years back.

andw1 10-30-2002, 07:18 PM Nice sled! I never cared for the looks of that hood style though, what did they call it? Evolved? I had a 94 XLT SKS, pretty good sled put 15000 miles on it before I sold it. The only thing I had problems with are the cheap plastic guides polaris used to use on the recoil rope. about 20 starts and they would wear through.

Sled Dogg 10-30-2002, 08:45 PM project died do to the motor i bought needed a cylinder ported as it was new, and crank rebuild. I sold the motor and moved on. Plus I'm now paying the mortgage and other bills since I moved into my girlfriends house and she has taken off work to relax before the baby comes in march. I was going to just buy a used sled to ride for a month or two till I found thisa nice ride. She's a beaut! And the Ultra SPX has the CRC X-10 suspension.

looks ulta clean ! how many times did you wax it since you got it ? i no that if i wax mine one more time the paint will come off ! no waiting for snow is gona be even more painfull for you.
was the seller in your area? how far did you have to travel to get it?
Sled Dogg 10-30-2002, 09:31 PM It's in Neenaw,WI. I have to pick it up next week or the week after. I have a 14ft triton trailer to pick up in Delavan,WI. So I have to drive an extra 2 hours north to get my new sled! Can't wait to pick her up. It's that clean from the previouse owner DanR.

Wolfman 10-30-2002, 09:32 PM Congtrats Dog!! I'm actually watching one closely as well. I'm going to wait and see how it fares in the auction price wise. My guess is that it won't make reserve as they're asking 2K on the buy it now. A 20 year old sled is still a 20 year old sled even if it never has been ridden.

Oh yeah,nice looking machine. No doubt those were the best looking Pols out there until the Pro-Xs came out.

fennsz 10-31-2002, 10:29 AM You're going to love it. My brother in law has the same sled, it is one of the best sleds I've ever ridden. Not to mention the wicked looks. That aggressive body style is killer. I was looking to purchase one of these myself, but couldn't find a good deal while I was looking. I settled for a Ski-Doo.

My money says it was the center bearing that failed on the 809. Mine did on my 01 tech plus, but i got a NEW 2002 motor from bomby FREE.. even though my warranty exp. a year ago.. :D

The next time you buy a used sled go down to Bronson and spend the day at WhiteStar Auction. I was there this past saturday and litterally watched over 1000 sleds get auctioned off. There were some killer prices on Triples in the $1,500-$2,800 range. The twins were holding their prices pretty good but not the triples. Out of 4 machZ's that went thru, If I remember right, all 4 were pulled because they didn't get high enough bids. The same with XCR-800's. I did notice some really nice Ultra's in the 2,000 range. There was a spotless T-cat that went for $1,800.00.
Go check it out next time, 1st saturday of every month.
Mighty RX-1 11-05-2002, 11:17 PM Let me start over, the next time you buy a sled go there. There were many new leftover 2002's. The best deal I saw was a brand new 800 EFI cat that went for about $5,000 with the full factory warranty. I'm not a Cat fan, but it was one sweet looking sled.

Sled Dogg 11-05-2002, 11:58 PM Oh I know about the auctions. List on the sled I bought is 3700 so I'm still ahead. I can ride it awhile and sell it for a profit. I set out in the morning for my trailer and sled, finished putting my new springs in tonight and my hitch. Dam auto parts store once again gave me wrong partds so no tranny filter change till morning ,and maybe not then.
