Can anyone fill me in on how the rotary engines did in the snowmobiles? Obviosuly not too good otherwise they may still be in use.

Thoughts?

Someone had a article of a vintage rotary racer in vintage class. They have theirs moded but they said the lack of torque and high rpms made for hard tunning and low exit speeds in the corners.

I had a Rx-7 and it was fun but the lackup torque was made up with 7000rpm shifts.

Im sure Spikgary will chime in on this one.

For the day, they ran very well with the wankel.

There were politics envolved with the demise of the Wankel type engine that lead to it's demise, thus not being available for use in a sled.
