Yamaha replaced inside clutch face when a motor mount failed and caused clutch to make contact w/frame.Are these sheaves balanced independently? Also can the engine bearings handle a little aluminum [filings]?

What do you mean, filings? How would the filings get to the engine bearings?

The clutch got chewed up and aluminum shavings, dust, particles, whatever were in the foam and under it, stuck to oil and gas in breather box,and in belly pan.Dealer says anything that went in engine probably went out the exhaust?

Nothing personal, but your dealer's a jacka$$, metal shavings in the cylynders could cause severe damage! If this was repaired under warantee, I would make sure he disassembled, inspected and cleaned everything. Is he willing to assume all the reponsibility if your motor gets ruined!

:withstupid: Make 'em tear it down. Good way to check the condition of your motor.

clutches are balanced as a unit thats why you mark them when you take them apart hope that helps ;)
