And are the gears the same as those from a ZR? (I think I read somewhere that they would fit.) I have an extra set of 19/40 gears from my ZR that may or may not be an improvement in his XC.

My records show that you have 22 top gear and a 40 bottom gear.

So a drop to a 19tooth on top would be way too low. Any of you Polaris boys ever play with the gearing in a 500XCSP? Any recommendations? (I'm asking the questions because i have acces to a computer during the day and jeagerdoo doesn't.)

Thanks Mike. Was it significatly "snappier?" Worth the reduction in top speed?
How about clutching? In the Arctic cat world there is a tried and true ZR500/600 clutching that can be done using stock parts (Polaris weights, in fact.) Any Setups for his XCSP 500? It's already faster than mine so now we are just adding insult to injury here.....

yeah, sent my buddys prox 440 packing. in reality thats not a reduction in top speed. a trailed 500 will only do low 90's tops. i had stock clutching and added 2 grams. i also jetted down.
