Anyone know the correct probe locations for a digitron 3 EGT gauge?
'97 T-Cat 900 stock engine with Simmons pipes w/stock silencer.

I called Racepack and they said to call EGT because they make the probes.
I called EGT and they said to call Simmons because most aftermarket pipes require slightly different probe locations.

I can't find any contact info for Simmons, anyone got a phone number?

I've been told the holes should be anywhere from 5" to 7" measured from the side of the piston, but I would like a more definitive answer.

Simmons would be the ones to get ahold of. Most pipe makers have spacifics for there pipes. If not, most cat manuals ive seen called for 100mm from the skirt.

Where ever you end up placing them, the next step is to tune your engine by reading piston wash and spark plugs. You have to use that method to set up your carbs in order to know when you have it properly tuned. Only after it is properly tuned do you look at the EGT readout to find out what the correct number is for your set up. Every installation is different, so you have to find the unique reading for your particular sled.
