On certain snowmobiles, if the throttle cable's adjustment is screwed completely down in the carburetor bracket, the end of the cable may eventually interfere with the carburetor lever mechanism. If this were to happen, the throttle cable's end could interfere with the throttle lever and, in some cases, prevent the throttle lever from returning freely to idle position. This could result in a loss of speed control causing a crash with injury or death. Correction: Dealers will adjust/bend the carburetor's lever mechanism to allow appropriate clearance.

I bought an 08 Rev XP Summit 800 X 154, i snow-checked it last spring and got it about a month ago. I had the sled out 3 times and was loving it. But i took it out last sunday and after about 3 miles of riding my throttle stuck, and i couldnt get the sled stopped. I bailed at the last second and recieved minor injuries; bumps, bruises, chipped tooth, and a mild concusion but i believe my sled is totalled!!! I took it to the dealership yesterday, macs cycle in clarkston and nobody seemed to care that the throttle stuck, and thats why it was crashed. This error almost killed me and they didnt seem to care, and had no interest in finding the problem. I had heard of recalls on some models, but they acted like they had heard nothing about them. So i found this site and am seeing there are actually throttle problems.
