how did you guys do?
snow prowler 11-17-2007, 06:18 PM I haven't been out yet for gun season. But the first part of Bow season, I only seen 1 Doe. and it turned and walked the other way away from me. But the season isn't over yet.
dlaine 11-17-2007, 06:21 PM Spent two weekends in northern mn. The first weekend my brother in law saw one doe, but could not get a shot at it. The rest of us didn't see a thing. Second weekend we kicked up a few going in and out but nothing we could get a shot at.
Oh well - I enjoy the time in the woods and if we got one that would just mean more work! :)

gravy davey 11-19-2007, 09:33 AM Well after 3 days of watching the blue jay's eat my corn and not seeing one deer I moved from my tree stand to a portable ground blind that I sat up in a cluster of pine trees on the well road.Went out saturday night still nothing.I was getting quite discouraged!!! Woke up early yesterday morning it was a beautiful clear 18 degrees went out to the portable blind and saw one deer after about 15 minutes still to dark to make out any antlers.About 1/2 hour later saw a yearling doe. Then another 20 minutes go by and I see another yearling doe and its mother by this time I am thinking there has got to be a buck following one of these doe's.Another 1/2 passes and my hands are starting to get cold and I am thinking about going in.I deside to stick it out then here comes a doe crossing the well road I stick my 30-30 out the window and there he is right on her tail I said to myself holy $hit thats a big rack pulled the hammer back and he looked over at me and I let the lead fly.I was'nt sure how big his rack was because this all happened in about 2 to 3 seconds needless to say I was pretty pumped!!!Tracked him about 150 feet and there he was a beatiful 8 point shot him right through the heart.
trailblazer 11-21-2007, 10:26 PM I got one a week ago last Sunday.
Nice doe.
Got it with my 6.6.
Damn suicidal deer.
Ran out in front of my truck at around 95KPH.
Dented the bumper pretty good and pushed it back into my tire.
Fortunately, it didn't cut the tire at all and I was able to pry the bumper out enough to keep going. She also knocked the fog light out.
But at least she didn't damage the sheet metal at all.
Oh and she did run off. Judging by the damage, I'm sure that other than a good bruise and being sore, she's fine.

XCR583 01-11-2008, 07:33 PM Sawman (aka Frank) sent me these. Not sure on the details of it, maybe he will reply with the details on it.
sawman 01-11-2008, 11:14 PM My freind shot this buck at our camp this fall.
The second pic of it is in my garage getting ready to skin it.
Taking no chances on toughness we put him in to 185 lbs of burger.

185 lbs. would make a lot of chili. Nice buck by the way. Congrats. on who ever got it.
billww 01-12-2008, 02:54 PM Nice deer!
triplethunder 01-14-2008, 10:39 AM nice deer guys.
tough season for me this year smokin hot and windy all through oct. very windy and rainy first part of nov. than snow and windy all through the muzzleloader. did i say windy? deer went into a nocternal pattern during the heat of oct. and rarely moved during the day once it turned cold.
took this one gun season nov. 20th. seen quite a few small ones all season. the bucks started dropping their horns the second week of november. pretty early this year. finally got on the big guy trackin through the snow muzzleloadin and guess what? no freekin horns.
missing the quiet of the woods about now. no snow to ride or chase bunnies, no ice to fish. i'm thinkin a trip to victoria secret is in order.
