I agree with you 100% Dan, no question about it, the new Star Wars doo looks like a Jedi should be riding it. *Hey, even with the Ski-doo Black modular helmet on. *The *force be be with *you. *Yuk. *LOL...

mightymach,
who said the rx-1 is ugly ? the sled is kawky.
i am a doo'er and i know the new mxz-rev is ugly but i don't care as long as it performs, of course we already know it performs from the race results.

Paul, I was directing my comment to all of the people that were jumping on the RX-1 saying how ugly it was. *I guess one should make sure that the new house they will be moving in isn't made of glass before they start hurling stones............

Does that thing float or did a Sea-doo ram it from behind? Low styling points but when you are on the thing, I bet all you see is the top of the windshield, ski tips and *everything going by in a BLUR! Bring on the whoops!

I wonder if you get get a jet propulsion set-up so you can use it during the summer also.

I think everybody should wait to see it in person before making a judgement. Pictures may be worth a thousand words, but there's a big difference between two and three dimensions. From the picture, I suspect that the front end of the sled would look considerably different if the lower part were yellow instead of black.

I think it looks good, it's a radical change but change is good. It will definitely turn some heads, and *bring more attention to the winter activity that we all love! Give it some time, it will grow on you.

I would have to say I think the 03 Doo looks KILLER!! *I can't wait to spring order. *Change is good. *Look what the Ski-Doo mods are doing...winning, winning, and winning. *Unstopable!! I'll take one!!!

I for one am not overly excited about Ski-Doo's "New Look". *I have been a long time fan of Ski-Doo but I am considering the new RX1. *After having owned a Yamaha R1, I am convinced that this motor will not only be reliable, but will be a target for other manufacturers to shoot for in performance.

If nothing else, this is a big step in the right direction! *If we have to have 4 strokes, this is the best example that snowmobiling has to offer! * Bring it on!

I love ski doo's and I do and don't like the new ski doo. *I REALLY like the open mod sled that they are racing, but the one in snowgoer doesn't look the same. *I can't put my finger on what exactly is different though. *Something with the tunnel maybe??

I like the new chassis. I think it is a cool looking machine, but I don't think it is as versatile as the "old" ZX or CK3 type sleds. Seems to me this will be a great trail sled for aggressive riders, but how comfortabe will it be for the long cruise? How will it compete in the impromtu drags that we all face when we are having fun with friends? Anything now is just speculation, but we'll see what we get http://www.snowmobileworld.com/forums/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif

I got to see this new style at the x-games, and I thought it looked very good. I agree with dooittoit, something does look a little different between the two sleds, I think we are going to see alot of these in the hills next year, But I'll keep the summit for another year to let them get the bugs worked out.

I dont think this new sled is ugly nor do I think the yamaha is ugly. *But I think that the sleds we currently drive are more suited for our trail networks. *

Up buy my place i run rail lines and lakes so why do i need this? *I dont!

Arctic cats got there pumped up machine. *Skidoos got it now and yamahas although more practical is just not my cup of tea.

I hope they come out with a second chassie that is more like what i have now. *Nothing more then 10 inch of front travel and 12 or 13 on the rear. *Be it a triple or a twin I hope that bombardier does make a second chassie. *

Personally i would take the ZX chassie put the a-arm front suspention on it. *Make a better rear skid. *Put a triple in it and call it the MACH. *Give it some neat features and theres my sled. *

I dont know why there making such changes. *Nobody was crying out for a big change.

I hope they hand out barf bags at the front door, your going to need several! http://www.snowmobileworld.com/forums/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/tounge.gif
I hope they dont change all their sleds to this style or I will have to jump ship http://www.snowmobileworld.com/forums/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/confused.gif
I"am sure it has some great technoligy and handling but I"am not ready for this http://www.snowmobileworld.com/forums/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/mad.gif
Like Machzzzz said, a zx chassie with the all mighty 800 triple triple and call her the Mach-3 http://www.snowmobileworld.com/forums/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/wink.gif

Personally i don't care what a sled looks like that much but whats really importaint is how it works and how it feels from the drivers seat and beleive me this sled with its engine placement and a arm will be the best handleing sled ever made ! http://www.snowmobileworld.com/forums/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif

I think ski-doo is on track with a "new" sled to put in the mxz line. *It's about time there was some real differences through the line. *Right now there is not a whole lot different between the legend and the mxz, other than some bells and whistles. *That's more of a package option if you ask me. *Now if I like to trail ride but I don't slide into corners and jump everything out there I can have a more comfy sled to do it on. *BUT, if I am a little nutso and like to spend my time in the air and pound the trail really hard the new chassie might peroform better for me. *Finnally, for the speed hounds, a facelift for the Mach would balance the ski-doo line nicely. *

IMO anyway. * * J.

I like the new sled ALOT!!!

Differances. *The rear end of the production one is different. *

Now...Here's the killer sled. *Take the REV. *Have the rear tunnel angle up and extend more. *Get rid of that funky windshield and put a low profile MXZ one. *Change the handlebar guards to a different moto X style one and what do you got? *

I have to agree with you bladeguy and to those people who think its ugly it will be a fun sled to own because the new rev will be a (in your face kinda sled ) and nothin will handle like it ! *and i only see the sled from the drivers compartment anyways. also i might add this sled is full of tech advancements that break away from the old style 2002 sleds. http://www.snowmobileworld.com/forums/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif Its going to be fun to day....*hows your 2002 dinasour ?

01-23-2002, 07:59 PM
Does anybody know if the new "Rev" is going to replace the whole MXZ line?or is it a whole new sled? *Can't find a Snowgoer anywhere so....... http://www.snowmobileworld.com/forums/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/sad.gif I'm not against new things, but I'm not big on the ball joint thing on the new front suspension. *Heard bad stuff about the old cats breakin a lot when they had a similiar setup. http://www.snowmobileworld.com/forums/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/sad.gif *When I buy one I want to keep it for a while, and the ZX chassis seemed pretty reliable.

chas,Doo will keep the MXZ in the ZX also.No way will they drop it.The new Rev.looks to be for sno-cross and very aggressive trail riders.I am going out on a limb here saying this but I can't see them dropping the MXZ-ZX chassis.Time will tell. With all the MXZ models trail, sport adrenaline, and X,I can't see them turning that mogul basher into a freindly, tame trail version.Just my thoughts.

All the new sleds are getting less and less practical. *

I heard my dealer tell me that the ZX was only going to be in the Fan packages next year...

I would like to be the first guy on the block to own one.Its the wifes turn for a new sled next year.Maybe we should order up a Rev and she can have my sled, yea ,thats it ,I got it figured out.It is ugly but,do you guys remeber when Ford came out with the first Taurus' Those things looked hideous back in 1985.Now you don't even think twice when you see them out and about.

I think that the new designs show innovation and commitment to staying on top of the sport. Everyone has to admit technology has been fairly slow the last few years and all manufacturers have shared the same basic sled composition. I personally applaud both Yamaha for their conviction in delivering a new viable snowmobile power plant in a somewhat unconventional chassis and Ski-Doo for taking design and function to the next level.
As far as performance, I doubt either company would make such radical steps from the norm if they weren't confident in the capabilities of the sleds.
Leaders initiate and perfect the trends and also assume the associated risks. That is why we all ride doo, they constantly push the envelope of performance and technology.

Welcome to the next generation, looks like it will be a wild one.

Have a great day!

Scott

If they make a 136" track on it, It will be my first new sled. I don't really care for the look but at 454 lbs, the power weight ratio should be incredible not to mention flotation in deep powder. I was thinking of a renegade for next year but the track pressure is close to the Rev, assuming track is 121".

No way they will drop the ZX chassis eh? After 2003 we all learned that function outweighed looks, must be more people than we thought were into Star Wars :p . Its also interesting to see all those old names again, most were original members from 2001.

I think we're hearing a lot about problems with the new reed-case Rotaxs, although, with all the Skidoos that I ride with (there's lots of em), I've yet to see any of these alleged problems first-hand. Heck, my old Series III engine did 15,000kms before I decided to get rid of it - with no problems. Do these engines really have quality problems, or is it just an exagerated myth?

BTW, who's this MightyMach guy anyways.... :p
