I want to rering a 900 T-cat. It looks like rings would be around $150? Can I use aftermarket ones, or do I have to go that route?

Thanks

I'd replace the pistons too, and recommend OEM.

I second that notion. My tcat motor was just in the shop last spring for counterbalancer
replacement. Seals and bearings went on it. While in, the dealer suggested piston replacement
due to a known problem with that engine with piston skirt breakage. Due to the low miles
and gentle usage of my engine, and lack of funds at the time due to the counterbalancer
issue, I did not do it. If your engine has higher miles and/or hard usage, I would do it.

Stock pistons have to have stock rings. There are a few exceptions to that rule, but for the most part, you can't use another brand ring on a stock piston.

I agree by the way. Spend the little bit of extra money and get pistons too.

I strongly suggest you get the whole deal... it is never a good idea to re-use pistons OR rings... OEM is usually the way to go... however the molly pistons are also a great replacement option... much better than that weisco crap
