I have tried several rewinders for many different sleds and I don't mean one or two, but more like 7 or 8 stators on 4 different sleds (not all mine). Every one of them we ended up having to buy a new stator eventually. Not one rewind lasted more than 500 miles and three never worked at all.
The sleeds were:
1998 ZL500, 1999 ZR 600 EFI (none ever worked (tried three times)), 1997 600 touring and a 2001 ZL600.
I know it sucks, but I would save myself the headache and either buy a good used factory stator, or belly up and pay the $500-600.00 for a new cat assembly.
Just my experience,

I bought the rewind kit from RM Stator for my brother-in-laws 97 ZR 580 EFI last year because we were in a rush. A little soldering and some hi-temp epoxy and he was up and running. All is working well so far.
