I''m looking for some people that have raced in some Hillcross races.........mainly in the Mn and WI areas..

I''m trying to build a mod sled to run in the x-games class...
What size paddle track is everyone running?
What size motor is everyone running?
Can you run coated pipes?

As it stands now im thinking of a 1 5/8 paddle track and a 700 mod motor built by trygstad...all this put into a 440 rev chassis...

Any and all suggestions and comments would be appreciated... photos would also be great ..

well i don't know about the guys in the mid west but here in the east just about everyone was running short tracks.most guys just ran their mod sno-xer's.the rules state that you don't have to run a long track to qualify for the x-games but if you do qualify you have to have a sled that meets the x-game specs ( min 136" track) by dec. of the next season.pretty lame..the short tracks have the weight advantage. i my self am running a t/s 680 mod, very light 370 lbs wet with a 136" x 1 3/8" padles.big paddles are great if the snow is loose but if it is hard they don't get any traction.the smaller motors seem to do real well because of the power to weight.last year i ran a 800 twin which would pull everything up the hill "when" it got traction.the 2" paddles were just to big for the snow conditions.
