I am wondering what the secondary should be set to? *My 02 MXZ800 RER is overreving to 8100-8200 RPM when it should be 7850 RPM, correct? *It is set on #2 right now.

What belt are you runnnig? *Have you tried going down to no. 1 on your clicker? *If it pulls that you may have to add a couple of grams to your pin weight. *Make sure first that your belt is not slipping. *Clutches should not be hot after a run, just warm. *If hot you are slipping. *Also look for rubber deposits.

I am running the Doo belt, it's not the gold belt but the original belt that came on the sled. *I have 700 miles on it and have not adjusted it yet. *There is no rubber on the drive clutch or secondary. *Is there any trick to adjusting the secondary?

The secondary isn't your problem. It's the primary. Add pin weight. You probably won't need much, but that's what you ought to be changing. Unless you're slipping the belt. And I would take the suggestion and turn the clicker to 1, first.

TailGater, you might want to have you tach calibrated first. They can be off as much as 300-400 rpm. Once you know the tach is right then, look at the pin weight in the primary clutch. I have an '02 MXZ 800 and it is right at 7900 and I cant believe that the weight can be that far off unless it has been changed. For that reason I would go to the tach first.

I can't believe that this sled will shoot right up to almost 8200 RPM on hard pack when you pin it to the bars! * I would think doo would have this thing dialed in pretty close to start with. *As far as my Ski Doo dealer goes I may have to find a different one because they did a very sloppy job of preprepping this sled, they did'nt even tighten the nuts on the front shocks.
