I am curious about the info in the back of the Perf manual about set-ups. I used the setup for the 01 ZR 600 for Grass Drags. I was unable to get the 18/43 gears they reccommended. I use an 18/41 setup instead.Which is about a 3-4mph difference by the chart. After my first race I change the gears to 19/40. The sled was noticealbe quicker with the higher gear set. The low gears didn''t have the top end(which should be the case). It was a 500ft Drag. I know every sled is differnt, but does this make sense that, The gears the reccommended were too low. I actually think I would have done better yet if I had used even taller gears. I am somewhat baffeled by this experience of mine. The sled is a stock ZR 600. Engagement was about 5300, and it ran about 7800 at 500 ft. Pulled strong the whole way. I know that this only gives a starting point but the gearing seems to be way off in my opinion. If anyone can shed some light on this it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
