I going to be studding a new track soon and was wondering if there is any difference between the sqaure stud backers and the round ones. I was told that the by using the square backers the studs tend to rip out easier, not sure if this is true or not and just wanted some of your opinions.
Thanks everyone

No truth to that, I have been running studs for well over 5,000 miles and they are square woody's backers and have never had a tear through. I would say the round would be the same, but not the plastic ones. They break easy. Tear outs normally accur in the outer edges of the track. Go with Woodys Gold Diggers up the center with the square backers and you will have no problems. I haven't seen any yet and all my buddies run them as well.
