My fathers 99 indy 500 has a Xtra 10 skid and keeps locking fully compresed after a hard hit. i did notice that the front arm is cracked so i welded it. but it still lockes down after a hard hit. any one wlse have this problem? howd you fix it?

When was the last time you greased your skid?

How many miles on the shock. If it is a factory shock and has not been rebuilt (if it is rebuildable) chance are you are do.

i dont think its locking at all. i think you need a rebuild on those shocks.

shocks are shot. crappy oil shock if worn out to can go into hydo lock but usually dont every time you hit hard. id say replace hsock and grease everything for sure.

we greased everything and it still locks down. the shock is an original shock at 4800 miles guess well try another shock....someday.... :rolleyes:
