I have a 1994 arctic cat 700 efi and there is a ticking that sounds like a fuel pump relay maybe but it does it even with the key out.Could the battery im using be too small to charge up the efi.Or do you think there is a wire crossed somewhere? thanks for taking the time to read this

I used to have the same sled. The ticking noise is the fuel pump, but it shouldn't be doing it when the sled is turned off.
Bad Switch? Bad ground? I doubt it is due to the battery. I had a funny problem with mine when the ground wire from the computer box to the frame broke. Since it is behind the computer, it took me forever to find.

maybe the fuel pump relay (located behind the ECU on my old 96') is stuck on??
Give it a tap to see if it shuts off or switch the relays to see if it turns off.

thanks....I just got back from messing with it and found a broken ground up in the front of the sled by the motor.I just changed it and letting my battery charge for a few hours..The weird thing is though it has three grounds to the battery and three positive to the battery..The ground that is broken up by the motor is also spliced and connected to the frame behind the box..Well ne ways I got my fingers crossed..too much snow to watch people ride by....does anybody know how to find out how to view a wiring schematic of it to see if that ground should be there seems like alot of wires..

Don't get paranoid but maybe its a time bomb waiting to explode.

You have the wrong battery or bad relay-
The sled needs the correct battery with full voltage and amps to power up the efi.
