I have heard of people putting a XTRA-10 out of a polaris into a yamaha...was wondering if anyone here has done it and if so does it bolt right in?...would like some more travel in my yamaha (1997 SX ) , thanks guys!

I would put in the newer SX skid. They had 11 inches of travel and will bolt right in. I believe 97 was the only year yamaha used the 8 inch rear end in those machines. The yamaha skid is much better than the extra 12. It has better geometry and is fully coupled. If you want a really smooth ride then use a V-max Deluxe skid. The valving is much smoother and the ride is unbelievable. The only problem is that this skid will bottom more if you are the aggressive type.

I agree, the V Max deluxe's have a great one, it doesn't bottom out as much as I thought it would and really takes the bumps well!

I saw a pic in one of the mags of a viper with a sc-10 2 in it ;) I'm going to try and find it and post it.

I agree a pro action from a later sled would be better my sxr has 11" and I never get that dreaded spinal shock and it doesnt feel like a wet noodle like the M 10
