This is my first post, so hi everyone. I am 26, and want to get into snowmobiling. What would you guys recommend as a reliable and consistent sled for flatland boondocking and some groomed trails? I have enough experience to know I like power. A lot. I am thinking of something in the 2004-2007 range. Any help is appreciated. Regards.

I dont have any brand preferences. I just want a dependable, gas n go sled. (with good power) I did post this in the AC subforum with AC in mind, though. Price range, I was thinking in the $5000-$13000CAN range. Obviously less is better, but I am willing to pay for a good sled. I have nothing against sleds a little older, either, say 2000 or newer. Just a newbie in need of good advice. :D

Nothing says reliability like a yamaha 4 stroke! and the newer yamaha's are pretty light and agile. Consider a Yamaha Nytro FX :)

everything else like the rev and the firecats are all amazing at boondocking but aren't the most reliable things in the world.... especially for someone who doesn't know what they are doing.

The thing I am thinking about this post is that you want reliable and something for entry level... I would say either a Fan 570... i have one and they are awesome... not a slug but are simple and easy to take care of... they also run in all conditions... also 500, 600 CC liquid machines are a good choice... ZL's are choice as well..

Cross Fire. You'll love it. 600 or 700. Or bigger if you want. your a 26 old male who likes to sled?? Why waste money on a entry level sled. Your probably a good rider who can handle it. The Xfire is quick out of the hole for the longer travel and mine went to 0-80 with out much time. Took a little longer to get up in the 90's there. But I only did that a few times. The 0-70 was fun enough for me. Oh yeah the sled still handles great on the trail. That my thoughts. Fact if your close to Michigan I would sell you mine. I love it, but I am getting married, and bought a house. No much time or extra cash for riding. But the CrossFire is a great all around sled.
